All Hex-wing rendered images, concepts and starfighter design by Tim Miles.
Once again the technicians at the Incom Starfighter design corporation have created another great fighter. Word has it that the Rebels are about to take delivery of three prototypes of a brand new Starfighter, the T-160.
The T-160, dubbed the Hex-wing due to it's unusual wing configuration is a highly advanced adaptation of the much older X-wing design. The basic fuselage and configuration is similar to an X-wing, but two extra wings have been added along with two more laser cannons to increase firepower by 50%. In addition, more powerful computer systems and engines have been added to increase performance and reliability in a combat situation. The maximum top speed has been increased by 30 mglt for a total of 180 mglt. This increase in speed will allow the Hex-wing to compete with the TIE Advanced fighters, while still delivering the devastating firepower of 6 turbolasers.
Fortunately, this new fighter is extremely expensive to produce and it is unlikely that the cash-strapped Rebels will be able to produce the T-160 in great numbers. Still, even a few of these fighters might tip the balance of starfighter technology in the Rebel's favor.
