25 July, 2002 - Søren's Third Birthday

Welcome to Søren's birthday pages. Our beautiful boy turned three this year on his birthday. We can't imagine what it would be like to have him with us to celebrate. What would he look like now? I try to picture him, growing up and talking. I'd love to make cookies for him and read him a story. We would be off to the playground daily and no doubt he would have a little trike by now. Such a big grown up boy. So much to miss.

This year for Søren's birthday we took a trip on the Sydney Harbour ferry over to Watson's Bay. We brought along Søren's bear so he could see the sights. Once there, we sat for a bit in the pub, taking in the skyline of Sydney and the fresh ocean air.

After a bit, we walked up to the empty childrens playground and gave Søren's bear some quality time on all the equipment. Then we took the bus back to Bondi and stopped in McDonalds for a happy meal. After our day out, we had cake and ice cream at home and blew out candles for him.

I also entered a large drawing into a regional competition. The drawing is a watercolour and conte crayon of Kieron holding Søren, entitled; Final Hour. The drawing was chosen for hanging and was placed in a lovely spot facing out into the hall where it could be seen from the entrance to the exhibition. I was very pleased.

Also, this year for Søren's birthday, I decided to try something new and have begun learning to throw pots on the wheel. It has been a good learning experience and many have commented on how fast I have learned.

This isn't what we had planned for this year though. We had anticipated celebrating Søren's birthday with a new little one. But sadly, our Heloise died during birth on 15 March 2002.
