Auror -  a member of an elite team of wizards in the Ministry of Magic. ex. Mad Eye Moody, Mr. Longbottom

Animagi -  Ability to turn yourself into an animal

Animagus - A person who can turn themselves into an animal

Apparate - Ability to make yourself move from place to place almost instantly

Apothecary - Shop where magical materials are sold.

Azkaban - A wizard prison

Beater - A Quidditch player that must kit the Bludger with a wooden stick

Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans - Wizard Candy... that really has every flavor!

Bezoar - A stone taken from the stomach of a goat that will save you from most poisons

Bludger - A large jet black ball, hurts a lot if you get hit with it

Boggart - Creature that turns into whatever you fear the most

 Chaser - A Quidditch player that must score using the Quaffle

Codswallop - Not true, a lie

Cornish Pixies - Electric blue, about 8 inches high with pointy faces and a shrill voice

Dementor - A tall, robed creature who has no soul. Dementors are horrid things, who guard the prison of Azakaban. The dementors literally suck your soul out, in an act know as the Dementor's Kiss.

Diagon Alley - The cultural and business center of the Wizarding World.

Disapparate - Ability to remove yourself from somewhere

Droobles Best Blowing Gum - Can fill a room with bluebell-colored bubbles that refuse to pop for days

Dungbomb - When one of these is set off it stinks up a large area around it

Erised, The Mirror of - A mirror that shows what you desire most, Erised spelt backwards is desire

Gillyweed - A magical herb, giving you gills, to let you breathe underwater.

Godric's Hollow - The hideout of James and Lily Potter when Voldemort was after them

Gnome - Small, leathery looking creature with a large knobby, bald head exactly like a potato

Goblet of Fire - A bewitched object that chooses the contestants for the Triwizard Tournament.

Gryffindor - (1) One of the four greatest wizards of all times, helped construct Hogwarts

                  (2) A Hogwarts house section

Grim - A giant spectral dog that haunts graveyards

Gringotts - The wizard bank

Grunnings - A muggle company that makes drills; Mr. Dursley works for this company

Hippogriff - Half horse, half bird with gleaming coats of different colors

Hinkypunk - A little one-legged creature that looks like it is made of wisps of smoke; holds a lantern in it's hand and lures travelers into bogs

Hogwarts - School for witches and wizards

Hogwarts Express - The train that brings Hogwarts students to Hogwarts

Howler - A letter that lets out yells one-hundred times louder than usual

Hufflepuff - (1) One of the four greatest wizards of all times, helped construct Hogwarts

                  (2) A Hogwarts house section

Hungarian Horntail - A type of dragon

Levitating Sugar Balls - Wizard Candy, Suck on them and you can levitate a few inches in the air!

Marauders Map - A map that shows every detail of the Hogwarts castle

Mandrake - Is a powerful restorative, they form an essential part of most antidotes; The cry of a full grown Mandrake is fatal to anyone who hears it

 Toothflossing Stringmints - Cleans your teeth like floss

Triwizard Tournament - The subject of Book 4, a tournament between the three schools of witchcraft and wizardry. It includes different tasks and each of the (usually) three contestants are scored.

Unicorn - a mystical creature, somewhat like a horse with a horn, unicorn blood makes you live longer, even if an inch from death, but if you drink the blood you will be cursed from the moment the blood touches your lips.

Voldemort - "He Who must not be named", "The Dark Lord", Tom Marvolo Riddle

 Whomping Willow - A very violent tree that stood alone in the middle of the school grounds

Wand - The essential wizarding tool. Each wizard's wand is different. Most range in length from 9 to 16 inches. They are made out of wood, and contain dragon heartstring, unicorn hair, or a phoneix feather for a core. In Book 4, Fleur Delacour's wand had a veela hair.
