The Story of Hogwarts

Written and edited, by
Casey Harding

The year 12, B.C. four solitary figures hurried across an island in the midst of darkness. They had a mission, that mission was to rid the world of darkness, while making the wizard world safe from harmful humans. They stopped on a spot, to the muggle eye, it was just an ordinary spot, the same as any, but to the wizard eye, it was the start of Hogwarts. The four mysterious figures started building, brick by brick, as they would for the next hundred years, aided by a special life potion that would let them live as long as the building. They weren’t allowed any magic save the occasional spell for food or drink because if they were to use magic, the building would be cursed forever. And so Hogwarts, was built by four names that would be remembered for ages, names that would shiver the hearts of evil doers, those names were, Salzar Slytherin, Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, and Rowena Ravenclaw.

So, brick by brick, stone by stone, passage by passage, the building was being built. Soon, tensions ran high, someone brought up the topic of who to let into the school. Three of the four were for anyone, be them pure blood, or muggle. One of the four wanted only pure blooded magicians, he was out matched. In grief and anguish, he created a secret passage, a passage that would house the terror of the deep, the perfect creature to kill off mud bloods. Unknown to the other three, Salzar created The Chamber of Secrets. This chamber held the unknown terror, should the ancestor of Salzar come, he or she will know the way to open the chamber, and unlock the mysteries within.

So as Salzar continued on, soon, the chamber was locked, and hidden from view. On the last couple of days, Helga came across a secret passage, somehow opened it, and entered as Salzar was performing his last ceremony to darkness. As Helga entered Salzar turned and performed a deadly curse, a curse that would imprison her within the chamber forever. And so as he exited the chamber, Gordic, and Rowena, imprisoned him in the rift of darkness. Up to now, it has been all fact, but what happens after has been debatable. It is said that Salzar, using his magic abilities, escaped, from his cell in the darkness beyond, and came back looking for the blood of mud blood students.

He smiled as he heard the sorting ceremony, he smiled not of the joy of students getting put into their houses, he smiled a grim smile, a smile of revenge. He swept down one corridor after another, knowing exactly where he was going. As he entered the bathroom on the second floor, a girl was sitting crying in the stall. Waving his wand and muttering a few well chosen words Salzar vaporized the poor little girl. Nothing would get in his way, not a girl, not even Dumbledore. He searched the stalls and sinks, looking for a picture, a picture that would tell him, he has found the right place. Finally, he found what he was looking for, it appeared just to be a picture of a snake some prankster seemed to have carved into the pipe. But to Salzar, it was an entry to another world.

He seemed to be talking to the picture. All you could hear was a dreadful hiss, and he was gone, flying through one tube after another. With a hump he landed in what seemed to be a dark cavern. He walked, the crunching of human, and animal, bones seemed to delight him. He approached a huge door with the picture of a snake on it. Hissing in the same manner as he did to the pipe, the door swung open. And so he entered the chamber of secrets. It was a massive cavern, it appeared to be bigger than Hogwarts itself. At the end of the cavern, their was an equally huge statue of a snake. Salzar didn’t need to hiss this time. Right as he entered the snake felt his presence, the presence of the master.

Up in the sorting ceremony, pandemonium erupted, the hall was shaking, it was the shaking of a earthquake. Teachers ushered the kids up to their dorm rooms while Dumbledore figured out what to do. Hogworts was built with no magic, but after it was completed a number of spells were put on, including the spell that would keep the school from the harm of natural disasters. Panicking Dumbledore cast the only spell he knew that would stop this phenomenon. The spell of nature, this spell would stop every single thing in the world that has to do with nature. All at once the earthquake stopped. But Dumbledore also felt something else, a prickling at the back of his neck. Suddenly in front of him, a 75 foot snake rammed up out of the floor, throwing Dumbledore backwards. Dumbledore raised his wand, and in a flash of light, everything fell silent.

Up out of the blackness, came a figure, cast again into the darkness beyond. As he fell, he cursed Dumbledore, he cursed Hogworts, and he cursed mud bloods. And so he was imprisoned again in the rift of darkness forever............or so we thought.
