The 'Scorpion' is the designed as a heavy weapons platform for the Federation Marines.

The main armament for this tank is a quantum burst launcher, which is capable of firing upto fifty charges per minute. Each charge can be upto 5,000 kilowatts each, which with the rapid fire rate is enough to 'pound' a heavily shielded target. The tank also has two smoke generators, each capable of delivering upto 500 cubic metres of smoke per second.

The tank has a crew of two, a driver who sits in the front of the tank and a gunner, who sits directly behind the driver. Both crew have a separate 'wide view' screen which gives them a 360 degree view of the battlefield. This system is enhanced with both infra-red and night vision system, allowing the tank to operate under any light conditions, day or night.

The tank is powered by two 1,200 kilowatt electro-motors which turn the tanks tracks. These motors and the weapons are all supplied with power from a micro-fusion reactor. The tank also has two micro-fusion power cells which can power the drive motors in an emergency. These power cells are the same as those used in the Warthog scout.

The tank is capable of achieving 90 Kilometres per hour on flat terrain, although it's normal cruising speed is only half that.

The tank has two centimetres of ablative armour and is the first such vehicle to be protected by this advanced plating. To complement this, the tank is also equipped with a 5,000 Kilowatt shield system, which although weak is enough to protect the tank from small arms fire.

The USS Leviathan-A and it's Marines have two of these tanks at their disposal.
