||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The 'Wart-Hog' is a three-man scout vehicle designed for recon missions and fast attacks on lightly defended targets. The 'Wart-Hog' can carry upto three Marines and all their equipment. It is armed with a single, three-barrelled phaser cannon mounted on a turntable enabling the gunner to fire through a two-hundred and seventy degree arc. This cannon can deliver upto 12,000 short-burst phaser bolts per minute. The vehicle is powered by a single micro-fusion power cell which is capable of powering all the equipment within the vehicle for upto twenty five hours, although the average life of such a power cell is just seventeen hours. The power cell is fully recyclable and is a totally self-contained unit. This allows a spent power cell to be changed within ten minutes. Although not standard equipment, it is common practise to carry a spare power cell. The 'Wart-Hog' can reach a top speed of over a hundred and forty kilometres per hour on smooth terrain and can average a comfortable speed of seventy Kilometres per hour on rougher terrain. Each of the 'Wart-Hogs' four wheels are driven by a two hundred kilowatt electro-motors and are independently suspended, reducing the pitch and roll of the chassis. The Warthog also has a cable winch mounted forward of the front axle which can pull a weight of upto 4.2 metric tonnes. The USS Leviathan-A and it's Marines have five of these vehicles at their disposal. |
