Normally power is created and distributed from Main Engineering on Deck 35 aboard the Enterprise Class Starship, however when engaged in separated flight power for the saucer module is generated from the Saucer module Engine Room.

All components necessary to power the Saucer Module of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-G in separated flight mode are located within the Saucer Engine Room. The engineering section of the saucer is essential for regulating the vast amounts of power generated by the warp core assembly. The Core itself is located on a lage dais in the center of the room, spanning four decks of the saucer module. The Warp Core is comprised of a Matter/Antimatter reactor with a dilithium articulation frame, four lobed magnetic constriction columns, and high yield matter/antimatter injectors.

Many control stations and panels are located throughout the saucer engine room onboard the Enterprise. These stations, which are constantly monitored by engineering personnel when active, provide monitoring of the saucer's warp field geometry while in separated flight mode and direct supervision of impulse propulsion systems. Also while in separated flight Saucer Engineering provides for the maintenance of the Primary section of the Enterprise.

This section is typically manned by the Assistant Chief Engineer and a very select team of personnel hand picked by the Chief Engineer. This is, however, unnecessary. All functions in Saucer Engineering can be automated and controlled from the Engineering Console on the Main Bridge if needed. Likewise command functions can also be transferred to saucer engineering if needbe while separated.
