The Medical department onboard the USS Enterprise is charged with providing health care to the ship’s company and all attached personnel. The extended nature of many starship voyages as well as the hazardous nature of Starfleet duty can make this a considerable challenge. Additionally, the diverse range of lifeforms both in Starfleet as well as on various destination planets dramatically increases the scope of the task. To provide for the care of the ships crew, the Enterprise has been outfitted with the most advanced sickbay yet constructed by Starfleet. Located on deck 10, the Enterprise's sickbay is equivalent in size and abilities to that of a deep space outpost.

When entering sickbay you first visit the ships waiting room. Decorated to make a family members wait in sickbay comfortable while their loved ones are being examined, the waiting room is outfitted with several chairs as well as access to the ships computer database. A large nurses station and patient status monitors are located along the wall parallel to the entryway, ensuring that the guests in sickbay are well taken care of. On both sides of the Nurse's station are doors to the Surgical suite and the Enterprise's morgue facility. To your right after entering through the main door is the Chief Medical Officer's office and workstation. Next to it is a small isolated exam room, designed to be comfortable to the patient yet functional. To your left when entering Sickbay is another isolated exam room and a small corridor deeper into the sickbay facility.

Traveling down the small corridor you will come to the Enterprise's recovery ward. Patients that need to spend time in sickbay to recover after an operation or an illness are kept in this area and observed by the ships Nursing staff. The beds in this area have been specially designed to be comfortable yet therapeutic in origin. At the wall farthest from the corner is an isolated bed incase a patient needs to be separated from the rest of the patients.

Venturing deeper into sickbay you will reach the Physical exam room. In this area crew fitness is evaluated by the Medical Staff to ensure that the crew of the vessel is healthy. A treadmill is located in the center of the room for running exercises, machinery is on hand to test reflexes, and a stairstepper is built into the wall to test endurance levels. Next to the stairstepper is a door to a private exam room that can be used to isolate patients if the need arrises. Parallel to that door is the entry to the pharmacy.

Leaving the exam area you come to another set of offices and a medical library. Medical files as well as actual printed works are located in the Medical lab for the use of the medical staff. A large table is also located in this area granting the ability to work from this area or conduct a staff briefing if needbe. Like the exam room a door to an isolated exam room is also available in this area.

The Medical Laboratory is located off the library. The Primary Medical lab is outfitted with all the equipment that is necessary for treating the virsuses that are encountered on the final frontier. Direct links to memory alpha, the medical scanners, and the ships computer are provided from the console in the center of the room. The door behind the workstation leads to an isolation room for use when treating a patient and an additional door leads to another set of biobeds. The final section of sickbay is usually used for quick examination and a corpsman is always located in this area.
