It's been quiet since Andy's death and the sisters try to put it behind them. Piper decides to open a nightclub, Prue throws herself into her work at the auction house while Phoebe, who is still unemployed, starts looking into their family heritage. A powerful demon named Abraxas steals the Book of Shadows and resurrects some of the Charmed Ones old foes by reading all the spells backwards.

As a heat wave descends on San Francisco, Phoebe begins to have exotic dreams that end in the killing of her dream lovers. After Morris asks Prue for help solving the killing of four men, Phoebe fears she may be a Succubus. Prue suggests that she cast the spell to attract and destroy the Succubus by fire and have Piper's power ready to stop time in case Phoebe is correct. Fortunately for Phoebe she was mistaken, but unfortunately for Prue the spell turns her into a man. Piper books the Cranberries to play at P3.

An evil witch (Tuatha) that kills good witches, is accidentally set free from the cave she was entombed in for two hundred years. The Halliwells learn from Leo that only the Chosen One, a teenage boy named Kyle, has the ability to destroy Tuatha by using her own magic wand against her. Prue, meanwhile, has a run in with the smarmy head of an internet auction site that is interested in purchasing the wand, while Piper has to decide between continuing to see Leo or starting a new relationship with Dan.

Meanwhile each sister's life changes as Phoebe begins college, Prue quits her job and Piper learns that Leo has come back to fight for her love after his wings are clipped.

A trio of college girls looking for men on Valentine's Day turn to magic for a solution by transforming three animals into men with some indirect help from Phoebe. Piper's relationship with Dan is strained when she decides to give Leo a Valentine's card and Prue attempts to spend a day doing nothing now that she's out of work.

One of Phoebe's past lives comes back to haunt her as she learns that in the 1924 her past self was seduced by a warlock named Anton in attempt to steal her cousins' (Prue and Piper's past lives) powers. Phoebe soon discovers that the untimely death in her past life will led to her death in the present unless she can prevent it while Anton continues to to attempt to steal the powers. Piper discovers that in her past life Leo was a former lover and Dan was her husband.

Meanwhile, seeing Piper difficulty in choosing between Leo and Dan, Phoebe works a little magic to help Piper find her true love.
