The multi-million-dollar men of "Friends" (whose combined income for this season will be a staggering $72 million) sat down for a candid chat about fame, fortune and their futures for the August issue of Details magazine.
So what do MATT LE BLANC, MATTHEW PERRY and DAVID SCHWIMMER really think about their super salaries? TV's terrific trio didn't hold back: "What we make in a week is absurd, really compared to most of the country if not the world ..." Schwimmer revealed. "My dearest friends in the world, none of them will make that in a year, and I think it takes a lot of work to remind yourself of that. At the same time, what's never published is how much money the show generates for those who are really seeing much more profit than we are. And that is never public."
Perry agreed, "Sometimes I'd get angry when the newspaper writers were saying we don't deserve it. Take that writer, and put him in that position ... If he though he could get it, he'd move hell and high water ... !"
Friendly funds aside, the guys also talked about coming to terms with the price of fame and loss of privacy. "I did resent the press, and now I just understand that once you do anything that is being watched by 25 to 30 million people, you're gonna get into this surreal world," Perry explained.
Le Blanc shared a surreal story of his own to the mag, "I was in Australia doing 'Lost in Space' and they had to put up guards on the floor of my hotel ... and it wasn't just like young girls -- it was like couples and guys and stuff like that going, 'Aww this is so cool, it's Joey from "Friends."' It's so bizarre and creepy that it's this big thing around the world."
As for their TV futures after this final season of the "must-see" show, all three told Details they planned on staying out of the sitcom spotlight.

Looks like Matthew Perry's swingin'-single days have come full circle.
As you may recall, back in March, Mr. P. was doin' some serious saliva swapping with his Whole Nine Yards costar Amanda Peet.
Since that superfriendly exchange, the man also known as Chandler has canoodled with a slew of sexy babes, including Lauren Graham, Heather Graham and Jennifer Capriati.
But just this past week, he went back for a second round with Perky Peet. And I'm not talkin' about the upcoming Yards sequel.
Clad in a light tee, jeans and specs, M.P. languidly lunched outside with A.P. and a director type at the trendy eatery Doughboys. Third Street. Hell-Ay.
As the bitchin' Jack & Jill gal gabbed on her cell phone, Matty-babe nuzzled, nibbled and kissed her tantalizing ear. So very de-lish.
Needless to say, sources close to the couple maintain they're "just friends." Isn't that always the spin?
Of course, I'm sure Matt-doll was simply offering some tips on how to cope with Bruce Willis when he leaned over to coo into (and lick) Amanda's hearing canal. After all, whispers go a long way in this town.

Actress Jennifer Aniston is worried about husband Brad Pitt's latest hobby
- horse-riding.
Although the movie star has shelled out a fortune on the show horse it appears his horse riding skills leave little to be desired -he has already tumbled to the ground several times.
Worried Jennifer was overheard shouting to Brad after his last tumble, "I don't want you in a wheelchair."
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Actress Jennifer Aniston's lawsuit against two magazine publishers for printing unauthorized photos of her sunbathing topless will proceed next week without a jury, the judge ruled on Monday.
U.S. District Judge Ronald Lew said he would conduct a court trial and render a verdict himself -- which is permitted for civil cases under federal law -- because Aniston's lawyers failed to demand a jury when the lawsuit was filed in 2000.
Aniston's attorney, Jay Lavely, said the 33-year-old actress would proceed with her lawsuit and testify in court in Los Angeles unless the case was settled first.
The actress, who plays Rachel on the hit comedy "Friends," sued Man's World Publications Inc. and Crescent Publishing Group, claiming that paparazzi scaled an eight-foot wall to photograph her as she sunbathed in the backyard of her home.
The pictures were taken in February of 1999 and appeared later that year in the magazines Celebrity Skin, High Society and Celebrity Sleuth.
The pictures have also reportedly appeared in the Italian magazine Eva Tremila, the English newspaper Daily Sport and the French publication Voici.
Aniston settled her lawsuit against Celebrity Sleuth and has sued photographer Francois Navarre over the pictures in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Aniston, who is married to Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt, appears this year in the film "The Good Girl."
Matthew Perry, celebrating a multiple-Gemini birthday bash. Tangiers in Los Feliz. At this particular soiree, getting past the buffed-out German security team was half the battle--but not for M.P., natch. Dressed Hell-Ay down, he spent a good portion of the evening ogling a bubbly blonde. Guess he was yearning for a little taste of the Real World, as the object of his apparent affection was RW vet Becky from the New York season. Could our fave Friend be looking for a reality check after canoodling with glammer leggy babes like Heather Graham? You just muse on that a bit before you start thinkin' on the next, 'kay?

The Peacock network is banking on it. For now, you can catch the original

Girl power has taken a grip on Hollywood--Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt have fallen out of the top powermongers in Tinseltown, while Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Aniston continue to soar. In Forbes magazine's new Celebrity 100 list, Cruise has failed to even rank this year, while the Mission: Impossible star's ex-wife Kidman has landed a respectable position at number 27. Brett Pulley, senior editor of the publication, says, "She has never really demanded big bucks per film but she did make it because she works a lot." Adds Pulley, "Brad has the luxury of being able to choose these artsy independent films, which he doesn't necessarily receive a lot of pay for." Pulley says that Aniston's whopping $1 million-an-episode for her role in hit TV comedy Friends is what qualified her for the power list, although he adds that stars' ability to create a buzz puts them on the list, not just the size of their wallets. Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts landed at number 13 on the list, with Meg Ryan far behind at 39, while outrageous British rock family the Osbournes made it in at 85.

Friends producers have let slip a clue about the forthcoming ninth season--Joey
Tribbiani and Rachel Green will not get married. Millions of viewers
watched theseason finale last month, in which Jennifer Aniston's Rachel and
David Schwimmer's Ross welcomed their new baby, Emma. And as usual TV bosses
left fans with a cliffhanger after Rachel accepted an accidental marriage
proposal from Matt LeBlanc's Joey. NBC representatives scratched rumors the
pair would tie the knot, saying, "Do you really think they'd make Joey
the stepdad of his best friend's kid? This isn't Jerry Springer!" The
writers of the hit comedy have promised fans the Rachel/Joey/Ross confusion
will be explained in the new series next season and Phoebe Buffay, played
by Lisa Kudrow, will become the center of attention due to her new romance
with hospital patient Cliff.

The hospital bed where Friends character Rachel Green gave birth is proving to be a huge attraction for the ladies of New York. The city's St Vincent's Hospital has been inundated with hundreds of requests for the bed after Rachel, played by Jennifer Aniston, had her long-awaited baby there in a hit episode of the long-running show. A hospital spokesman reveals, "Most said they wanted to have their baby where Rachel had hers. They wanted to book her room." The gullible fans are so desperate to emulate their heroine that they don't realize the crucial scene was really filmed in a Los Angeles sound stage. Says one observer, "These women are not just having problems distinguishing between television and reality, they're having children. That's sort of frightening."

Friends star David Schwimmer has been promoted from being the face of Los Angeles' Rape Treatment Center - to director. The TV hunk, who plays Ross Geller on the hit show, believes its his job as a celebrity to draw attention to important causes. The 35-year-old says, "To be perfectly honest, I feel I have a duty to use my celebrity status in a positive way. Most rape victims are women, so the bulk of the discussion is loaded towards women. I thought I could find a way to approach the subject of rape in such a way that men are going to respond to it." Two of his former girlfriends are victims of the violent crime. He says, "One was a child at the time, who was abused by a family friend. And then she was raped again when she was 16 in a date-rape situation." The Center started out offering crisis services for rape victims who came to the casualty department, and then branched out into providing counselling and therapy. Schwimmer continues, "My most devastating moment was when a 13- year-old girl told me her story. At that moment, I realized just how important this center really is. Nothing else had ever made me connect with reality like that." He also gave support to Cosmopolitan magazine's campaign to make it illegal to possess or distribute the "rape drug" GHB. He enthuses, "I think Cosmo's campaign is great, and that the possession and distribution of any of these 'rape drugs' should be illegal."

Friends fans' joy following the news the show will be back for
a ninth season will be short-lived when they hear it will end next year. Bosses
at NBC hammered out a deal with Friends bosses and castmembers on Monday -
making the show the most expensive 30-minute series in history. But NBC head
Jeff Zucker is sure the ninth season will be Friends' last. He says, "This
was the easiest deal we have ever made. Everyone wanted it to work out, because
everyone wanted to be able to send the series out appropriately, and in style.
The creators will tie things up and send our characters off into the world."
Friends
star Matthew Perry is taking a sideways step and guest-starring on legal drama
Ally McBeal. Perry, who plays Chandler Bing on Friends, will play a "cocky,
successful and opinionated attorney" in the Calista Flockhart-led series.
Actress Christina Ricci is making a guest appearance in the show, which will
be aired in April, at the same time. Executive producer Alice West says, "Matthew
Perry displays a strong presence and natural comedic ability on his other
TV project, which makes him a natural choice for Ally McBeal."

Actress Lisa Kudrow has no recollection of life as a sex-fueled teen - because she didn't lose her virginity until the age of 31. The Friends star, who married advertising executive Michael Stern in 1995, was so intent on saving herself for the right man, she refused to give in to temptations of the flesh until she was ready. She says, "I waited until I was married. My virginity was an honor that I was bestowing on a man - he had to be worthy of it." Kudrow and her husband now have a three-year-old son, Julian Murray, so obviously that honor has been bestowed.

A saucy picture of Jennifer Aniston and her former boyfriend Tate Donovan is being offered up for sale. The snapshot shows the Friends beauty dressed only in a thong and bra lying next to a naked Donovan. A pal says, "Jennifer is beside herself. She is horrified that such a private picture is up for public sale. But even more distressing is the prospect of her husband Brad Pitt seeing it. Like most newlyweds, Jennifer and Brad have blocked out the idea that either of them has ever had an ex lover." The picture was taken on a French holiday in 1997 by a self timing camera. Donovan claims the shot was stolen after their romance ended. It is now being offered up for sale on the photography market.
Brad Pitt is madly in love with his wife Jennifer Aniston - because jbeing married to her is so normal. The Fight Club heart-throb and the Friends beauty wed last year, and Pitt says marriage has been all that he expected and more. He muses, "Really, what I've been most surprised about, I find it very soothing. The everyday of it, I really value it, having this base and this connection that you can then go out in the world and do whatever you want, but you know you got this thing. I would certainly say that I'm much more grounded, I guess."

Just days after reports that they're suing the maker of their wedding rings for selling copies, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are battling a magazine they claim published lies about Jennifer being pregnant. The recent German edition of hip women's magazine Marie Claire sparked rumors of the pregnancy after they quoted Pitt as saying, "Number one is already on the way. Now we're just hoping that everything goes well. I don't know about a herd of children, but we should have enough for a small community." According to Pitt spokeswoman Cindy Guagenti, he said nothing of the sort. Guagenti claims she spoke with the writer of the interview, which happened while he was promoting The Mexican. "She asked him a question about adopting a baby, and he said, 'That's not true, I don't know where you heard that.' Then she asked, 'Are you going to have a tribe of your own?' and he said, 'We want to have kids someday.' She asked, 'When would that be, ' and he said, 'When we're both ready.' How that got translated into: 'No. 1 is on the way, ' I don't know. We're asking for a retraction."
