We have one set of pages for one of the fifth generation lines formatted and ready to accept biographical and/or historical information on the extended families of William Jasper Harris and Martha Ann Smith Harris.

If you have materials that you would like to have posted, let us know, and we will put it up for the benefit of all family members. If you are part of a different "downline," then we will set up a set of pages for that line, similar to this one.

The Family Pages are designed to display information on the more recent generations in each descendancy line. The basic pages for the first five generations lead to these Family Pages at the level of the fifth generations. We anticipate that extended family members will have more information that can be shared regarding these ancestors who are closer to us in time. Just like the basic pagers, members of the fifth and sixth generation families are listed as Family Page "hotlinks" at the left of each page. [We have very few of these pages that contain any data as of September 1, 2001]

Eventual content of these pages will depend on contributions from descendants of each family. If any of these families have set up their own genealogy websites, we will be pleased to place links to those sites on the appropriate family page. And, due to a finite restriction on the space we have available, we won't be able to add data on more recent generations on this site. We will assist any family members who wish to do so to create other websites devoted to families in the more current generations.

The core of this site is a set of Harris Ancestry Pages , devoted to providing currently known information on the ancestral Harris family to those who may be conducting research on the Harris surname. The first entries to these pages were a couple of research papers that came to our attention in June, 2001. One of these has been known of since 1977, but we had nothing to link its information with our branch of the family. When the paper we know deals with our ancestry came along, the potential of the other data being linked to our branch of the Harris family appears much more likely. The links to these papers are posted on the Isaac Harris ancestral family page. If a missing link between the two is discovered, then we will have resolved the mystery of how our Harris family arrived in America at last. As additional material comes to our attention about these earlier generations of the Harris family, we will post them to these Harris Ancestry Pages.

On the Isaac Harris ancestry page, links are provided to specific ancestry pages for Zachariah Harris , his father, Silas Harris , his father, Benjamin Harris , and his father, Isaac Harris . At present, Isaac is our earliest known Harris ancestor. Each of these pages features, a link to a text-format Family Group Sheet that provides the most recent information that has come to light on each of these families. For many years many of us had only the names of these men and their spouses, with little other information. Now we have names of children, and a possible name for the wife of Isaac Harris, though some who are doing research on the Harris line have raised questions on this issue, due to lack of specific documentation.
