Suspension and Expulsion

The Virginia School of Pet Grooming reserves the right to terminate any student for the following reasons:

Lack of Emotional Control: Any behavior that endangers the well being of the pets in our care or your fellow students. Behaviors or actions such as foul or abusive language, hitting or slapping, and destructive gossip will be defined as a lack of emotional control whether directed toward an animal or a person.

Unexcused Absences: Any absence not approved by the director of the school prior to the actual absence will be considered unexcused. Seven unexcused absences will result in the expulsion of the student. An intended date of absence must be submitted by the student in writing with the return date clearly indicated. A form will be available to the student from the office for such a request.

Drug and/or Alcohol Use: The use of any substance which impairs judgment and/or motor skills is strictly forbidden and will result in the immediate expulsion of the student.

Incorrect Information on Application: Any fact, such as age, requested on the enrollment application that is knowingly falsified can result in the student being expelled.

Refund Policy

Cancellation prior to the commencement of classes: If the school does not accept the application or cancels the enrollment, all fees paid except the application fee will be fully refunded. If cancellation is requested in writing by the applicant, parent or guardian three working days after signing the enrollment agreement, all fees except the application fee will be refunded. Notice of the cancellation should be sent by registered mail with return receipt requested. The postmark of the letter or telegram will determine the date of cancellation.

Termination or Withdrawal after the start of classes: Students may withdraw voluntarily form our program at any time they choose. In this case, the student must submit his intention to withdraw in writing by certified mail. Voluntary/involuntary terminations after classes begin will result in the Virginia School of Pet Grooming retaining a portion of the tuition. What percentage will be retained will be determined by the number of weeks the student has attended. In all cases, the application/enrollment fee is non-refundable.
