"If Only I Knew"
If Only I Knew
there would be a last time that I would see
you fall asleep.
I would tuck you in more tightly and
Pray Your Soul to Keep.
If Only I Knew
there would be a last time that I see you walk
out the door, I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more.
If Only I Knew
it would be the last time
I would hear your voice,
I would video tape each word,
so I could play them back each day.
If Only I Knew
it would be a last time
that I would be there
to share your day,
thinking you would have so many more,
I would not let this one slilp away.
Surely there is a tomorrow
to make up for the oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything right.
There will always be another day
to Say:
"I Love You"
and certainly there will be another chance.
But just in cast I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
Iwould like to say how much
I Love you
and I hope you won't forget.
Tomorrow is never promised to anyone,
young or old,
and today may be the last chance
you get to hold a Loved One.
So, if you are waiting for tomorrow,
why not make tomorrow Today!!
For if tomorrow never comes,
you will surely regret today.
That you did not take the time for
a Smile, a Hug, or a Kiss.
And you were too busy to grants someone,
what turned out to be their last wish.
So Hold your Loved ones Close Today,
whisper in their ear,
Tell them How much you Love them
and that you will always
Hold them Dear.
Take the time to say;
"I'm Sorry"
"Forgive Me"
"Thank you"
"It's Okay"
"I Love You"
And If Tomorrow never comes,
you will have no regrets
about Today...
Take this to Heart Dear Soul;
For I have personally felt this,
And I Thank God Each Day
for that last "Today".
Lovingly,
Marge (Hope Thomas)
