Kelly's Page Two

I think I mentioned she was sexually
abused from a very young age by her
stepfather. Lots of her poetry reflects
this. She has been published MANY times
over many years, and I want to warn you
that poetry reflects much pain and
traumas. She has published articles
about herbs, racism, and poetry when
she attended Kent State University. She had
to quit there because the stress of studies
was causing her to have grand mal seizures.

"The Pain Within"

I cry when tears well up inside.
I laugh to forget it all.
I strive to relieve the ragging pain.
While I hurt and feel very small.
I sob alone to let it out.
I sonorously laugh to keep it in.
I strike back at demons,
unseen but felt.

Though rarely seem to win.
I smile to mask the real feelings,
I talk to ignore the pain.
I fight desires to show my emotions,
but I still hurt again and again.

I'll tell you this,
so simple, yet true,
concealing feelings will never do.
When I hide away emotions like pain
I'm filling life with more stress and strain.

"You Or Who"

Who will help the victims cope?
Are you too self centered to see?
Its only through love that they find hope,
and the road to recovery.

Who will help the victims through
and not betray their trust.
Its a strenuous time starting life anew,
just being there is a must!

Who has a heart that doesn't blame
or a voice that won't attack?
Judgmental people cause victims shame.
The wise see their moral lack.

Who will soothe the victims pain
When others turn away?
Who cares enough to keep them sane
and help them through today?

Who cares enough not to hesitate
or squander another day?
Victims in suicides grip won't wait,
YOU show them a better way!
