Offer to Volunteer in Placing Circus Animals in Sanctuaries The USDA has made these pathetic excuses for not confiscating animals that they claim are suffering. They have claimed that they had no where to place the animal or did not have the funding. Recently, more funds have been made available to enforce the Animal Welfare Act. Remind them in your letters that you are aware of this. By stating in your letters that you will volunteer to make phone calls and start a campaign to raise the funds to place these animals in sanctuaries, it should reduce these pathetic excuses made by the USDA. It is so easy to make a phone call to a sanctuary and start a campaign to raise funds by contacting your local newspaper or sending out press releases to major newspapers and news programs. If just 1000 people gave ten bucks, that would be $10,000! There are more than 100 highly reputable sanctuaries in the United States that are more than willing to take circus animals and give them the home they deserve for the rest of their lives. Visit TAOS to learn about these sanctuaries. It is a possibility that a group of us could form a committee
and offer to work exclusively with the USDA on placing confiscated circus animals. |
