.
Okay here it is!!! This section of the zoo is all about the techniques of RK.
You could use this fighting styles to kill someone (hehe - I was only
joking).
We would like to send SPECIAL THANKS to Hiei (Maraming salamat)!!!
Almost
all of this info came from him, the 17th Hiten Mitsurugi Master ^_^x. This
section wouldn't be here without his help. Arigato!
By the way, I included a little screen caps on some techniques, to help you
visualize more or do the stances/poses yourselves in front of your computer!
If you would like to make comments or add more info or ask something, e-mail me
at kaorukanzaki@edsamail.com.ph

Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu Techniques ] [ Gatotsu
techniques ] [ RK battle tips ]
The
sword is swung directly above the ground to create a
powerful shockwave of rocks and debris flying
towards the opponent. (ouch!)
Kenshin's usually seen doing this, especially in the "filler"
episodes of the anime, and when the opponent's well, . . . not that good.
Kenshin
vs. Raijuta and company
|
- To strike at least two of the nine vital points at an instantaneous speed.
|
-
A variation of the Ryu Sou Sen except that
the attack focuses on the head.
|
-
A
counter-attack in which the user will put himself
into a spin and when he is behind or beside his
opponent , he will swing the sword in a backhand fashion hitting the back of the opponent's
neck
Kenshin
vs. Saitoh in ep 30
|
- A variation of the Ryu Kan Sen except that
the spin is done in the air .
|
- The user will jump high and slash the opponent
downwards. (Kenshin used this style a lot of times in the movie of RK)
Kenshin's
training with Hiko in the waterfalls
Kenshin
vs. Raijuta
|
A variation of the Ryu Tsui Sen but instead of
slashing ... the sword is pointed downwards thus
stabbing the head, as seen in the OAV. Gruesome technique! (Waaah! the blood!!!!
THE BLOOOD!!!!)
|
The user will place his left hand at the bottom of
the blade and slash in an upward motion hitting the
opponent at a tremendous impact (As seen with Hiko
Seijuro vs. Fuji(The giant who is one of Shishio's
men))
|
Everyone probably know this already . The sword is
sheathed and drawn at a very high speed .
Kenshin
vs. Aoshi in Shishio's library

-"Strike of the
Nine-Headed Dragon"
-
There are points of attack in every sword Budo: Karatake (head), Kesagiri (left
shoulder), Saka Gesa (right shoulder), Hidari Nagi (left arm), Migi Nagi (right
arm), Hidari Kiri (left waist), Migi Kiri Age (right waist), Saka Kaze (between
legs), and finally Tsuki (chest). No matter what the technique or school of Budo,
all attacks focus on one of these points, and in defense, the same points are
taught. But if you use the Ku Zu Ryu Sen, a Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu move that
attacks all 9 at exactly the same moment, not a person in the world can stop it.
-
The attack of the Ku Zu Ryu Sen comes from the strength in one's thrusts and the
stamina behind them, which means the person must have a mascular body, like that
of Hiko's. This is the reason why in Kenshin's training, his Ku Zu Ryu Sen
didn't have a chance against Hiko's.

Ama
Kakeru Ryu no
Hirameki |
-
"Attack of the Flying Dragon"
-
This ougi begins with the teaching of Kuzu Ryu Sen. When the student sees the
nature of the Ku Zu Ryu Sen, he'll see the connection of the Ama Kakeru Ryu no
Hirameki. It is a battou juttsu that's faster than Shin Soku.
-
A
variation of the battou juttsu except that the stance
is lead with the left leg therefore creating a more
powerful attack. (The reason why it's so much more powerful is because by using
the left leg, the allowance for torso turning is increased greatly. Apparently,
the added force of the torso turning more increases the speed and force of the
attack ten-fold.) Should it be blocked that swing will
displace the air creating a vacuum that will suck the
opponent towards the attacker then the second swing
finishes him off . (Hiei knows how to counter this! (Just
Crouch Low))
-
to be able to use this ougi, the person must be in perfect condition, or else
he/she'll die too.
Kenshin
vs. Aoshi
Kenshin
vs. Shishio (final battle)
|
-
The most used form of Gatotsu . It starts with the
user running towards the opponent and stabbing them
(As seen with the first fight of Sano And Saito)
-
if the opponent was able to avoid a first attack of the ishiki, it doesn't mean
he/she will be able to adapt to this technique next time. There is no constant
angle for this attack. It was created by one of the leaders of the Shinsen Gumi,
Hijikata Toshizo.
-
in episode 30 ("Evil has it's Revenge: Shishio Makoto's Devlish
Plot"), Kenshin was able to counter this attack using the Ryu Kan Sen.
Kenshin
vs. Saitoh in the Kamiya Dojo
|
-
This is used when the opponent is in the air . The
user will stab upwards.
-
also called the Taiku-np (anti-air) gatotsu
Kenshin
vs. Saitoh in the Kamiya Dojo
|
This is used when the user is in the air . The user
will stab downwards (sort of a Ryu Tsui Sen Zan of
the Hiten Mitsurugi School)
|
The fastest and the most deadly of all . The
opponent is stabbed at a point blank range (As seen
with Saito vs. Uonoma Isui OR Saito vs. Shishio)
|
Okay
here are some of the little techniques for battle Kenshin showed or taught in
the anime. (Hey, don't blame me if
it doesn't work in real life, ok? ^^)
tip#1:
When you're out-numbered by the opponents, run.
- I don't mean run like a coward! (^^;) Run for a while and when there's quite a
distance between you and your opponents, stop, and now you can now attack them
one by one. You see, every person runs at different speeds. Therefore your
opponents will catch up with you at different times, and you can sort of use
that to attack them one by one. Good idea, eh?
- This was the tip given by Kenshin to Yahiko in the early episodes of the
anime. I think it was in the episode where Yahiko saved a circus girl (please
forgive me - I'm doing this all by memory, so I don't now what episode no.! ^^;).
Yahiko sort of "revised" Kenshin's tip and instead of running, he went
to a narrow alley where only one person can enter at a time. ^_^x
tip
#2: Instead of showing your techniques to your enemy,
make them "self-destruct".
- This was used by Kenshin when he and Shishio first met. Kenshin had to fight
one of Shishio's men, Senkaku. (Remember him? He's the big
guy with the weird head shape, the one who killed Eiji's parents. You don't know
Eiji? He's the kid who Misao and Kenshin met on their way to Shishio's. He's
also the one adopted by Saitoh's wife). Instead of showing Shishio some of his
techniques (Shishio was watching by the way), Kenshin made his opponent Senkaku "self-destruct" by making his bone in the leg brake (you see the big
guy was chasing Kenshin all around the room, so Kenshin ran and ran around for a long time making the
Senkaky turn and turn his leg, until eventually
his bone couldn't handle the pressure and -boom!- it snapped - oh i mean broke)
