Founded by the daughters of charity and Located at 75 Lewis Avenue, in the Bedford-Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn Bread and Life seeks to address the issues of hunger and poverty in Brooklyn. Everyday Bread and Life serves over one-thousand meals to hungry New Yorkers. For many the meals that Bread and Life provides is the only meal they will have. Our goal is to combat poverty and help people achieve self-sufficiency as well as educating the public and increasing awareness about meals to needy New Yorkers via our soup kitchens and food pantries. But our mission does not stop there. We seek to assist lower income individuals and families through a variety of other social services, including job development, employment counseling, support groups, as well as legal and medical clinics.
