Clear and sunny all day.
A good day. This morning I slept on the couch until Fumihiko woke up around 5:30. Then, I went to bed too, and slept for a long time. I didn't get up until the afternoon. Fumihiko had a bath and then while he was in the bath I got a call from an ex student wondering if we could meet tonight. We had no plans so it was fine. I made arrangements and then let Fumihiko know.
We went to Sakata and ate a late lunch at M's Dining. It was nice though. We had one of their lunch specials. I really enjoyed it.
We stopped at an office in Sakata, and then when we were leaving a woman stopped Fumihiko and asked her to look at her car. Her battery had gone flat, so she needed a boost. We didn't have cables so Fumihiko checked out some of the people in the building. The first person didn't have any, but the second man did. Fumihiko used his cables to give the woman a boost, and she was on her way. She was so grateful. I was glad that Fumihiko knew what to do. I'm a total idiot when it comes to car things. I guess when you don't drive it's okay though! He gave back the man's cables and I thought it might be a good idea to get some for us!
Our next stop was Marine 5 the department store. We had a look around. On the top floor there was a lovely writing desk that we looked at. It was made by prisoners, and was gorgeous. I was really surprised when Fumihiko told me he'd buy it for me as it was really expensive. When a store clerk showed it to him he realized that he'd read the price wrong. Fumihiko thought it was 18,000 yen, but it was closer to 180,000 yen. A bit of a difference. So, I don't get a writing desk today! Too bad. I did get a few things for my niece for Christmas, so that was nice!
We made a quick stop at Mikawa Jusco to take Fumihiko's lovely jacket in to be shortened. The arms are a little too long. On the way out we were waylayed into taking a survey about Jusco. I wasn't too impressed, but no matter!
When we got home I changed my clothes and Fumihiko pumped up my bike tyre. We set off for Baden Baden, an izakaya. We made good time, and were even a bit early. I didn't believe it. We parked our bikes and went in. Koichi was waiting for us and we had a lovely dinner. I had some salad and some shrimp in mayonaise. I ate a couple of sausages too. Koichi asked me to look at something he'd written and make some suggestions about it. I went a little overboard, but it was fun, but difficult too! We broke up our party around 8:30 and then went our separate ways. On the way home I realized I was still a bit hungry, so I asked if we could go somewhere else. We went to a little restaurant on Showa Street that I've always wondered about. Well, I wonder no more. It was good, but a bit expensive. I'm not sure if we'll go there again. Maybe! They did have good salad!
We biked back to the apartment, I grabbed my basket and then we biked to the grocery store. We didn't buy a lot, but got a few things for tomorrow. We'll do a real shopping tomorrow night. I also got a pair of fingerless gloves...it's getting cold and they're convenient for bike riding.
When we got home I made coffee and did my tax forms. I don't have to fill in all of the details, just my address and stuff, so it's not that bad. My company does all of the dirty work for me! I was just going to turn on my computer when Fumihiko told me that I've got a big lump under my eye. I went and looked and he's right. Argh! I thought it might be an insect bite, but he told me he saw it earlier in the evening. I don't know whether it's a zit or a bite, but I don't like it. Sob. Take it away!
And that was my day. It was pretty good actually and I enjoyed it a lot. Gotta go. Night night!
