December 22, 2005 - Thursday

Warm, with lots of snow later on.

A pretty good day. Today, I got out of bed (hurray) and took a shower and ate breakfast and then headed for the mall. I walked to S-mall. I didn't know exactly what time the bus left for Sakata and Mikawa mall, so I hurried! I got there and discovered I had about 30 minutes to wait. Not too bad.

I caught the bus and read a bit of my book. I'm trying to read A.S. Byatt's Little Black Book of Stories. It's a bit bleak right now, but enjoyable.

At the mall I did a lot of walking around and trying to find things for Christmas. It was difficult. I knew what I wanted to get for Fumihiko, an electric razor, but what he's going to get me. Well, last year I got a microwave. I've used it about 5 times. He's used it about 100, so it wasn't really for me! I had decided on a new coat. My winter coat is a little older now and not looking so beautiful.

I tried on a few things in Jusco, but there wasn't much that I liked. The problem with this years coats and thing is that they all have blooming fur on them. I have no problems with fake fur...that's fun and kind of cute, but this is REAL FUR. Yuck. I did get a coat with a fake fur collar, but I made sure it was fake fur first!

After his work, Fumihiko joined me in the mall and we went shopping. First he bought my coat and then I bought his shaver, after a bit of discussion with him. He wanted a cheaper one, but I made him get the nicer more expensive one. Now I just hope he'll stop shaving his face off. We had our stuff gift wrapped and while we did that we had some coffee.

We took our stuff out to the car, then came back in and had dinner. We had shabu-shabu. It was really good but I couldn't eat as much as he did. I don't know where he puts everything, I really don't. He had two bowls of rice, lots of meat and veggies, and even half of the noodles.

When we finished eating we went upstairs and got our tickets to King Kong. The nice thing was that it was Couples night, so we only paid 2000 yen. Yay. It was great. King Kong was a really fun movie with an interesting cast. I didn't expect to enjoy it quite as much as I did.

After the show, we came home and then had some coffee. That's pretty much it. Fumihiko is off work for the next few days, so I'm not really sure what we'll be doing. I may have to take a night or two off blogging, I'm not really sure.
