Cold and snowy in Shonai.
What a day. It started early in Narita. We were sleeping in our hotel when the room started shaking. We were having an earthquake. I told Fumihiko it was okay to check the TV. He did and it was based in Fukushima. It was strong there, but not too bad where we were. We were staying on the 8th floor though, so the hotel had a swing to it that was scary.
During the day, Fumihiko went to visit his friends in Narita, then came back. We took the bus over to Haneda and waited for our flight. We spent a lot of time exploring the new airport. It's really gorgeous and I enjoyed shopping around. There's even a book store that sells English books and magazines now. It's about blooming time!
When we came home we tried to warm up, then went out for dinner and a few groceries. I think we're chilling out, just waiting to go to bed. I'm a bit tired. Fumihiko didn't sleep well last night, and as a result, neither did I.
Our trip to Hong Kong was wonderful. I truly loved it there. I wasn't dependent on Fumihiko to read things for me, and I could ask people things all the time. We did a lot of exploring, both with tours and by ourselves. It was great. Surprisingly, I didn't have to buy a new suitcase this time, Fumihiko did! Ha ha. He bought some bulky things that were really nice, but...! I'll post some of my pictures when I have some more time.
I didn't find out about the earthquake in Aceh until we were in Narita. We didn't have any idea how bad it was until a couple of days later. We feel just awful for the people living in those areas, and for the tourist that lost their lives. It seems like such a silly thing to say, but there isn't anything that I can say that would express how I feel.
I was watching the news and they showed some people looking for relatives and I wondered what I would have done if this had happened last month when Fumihiko was in Phuket. I started crying and told him that I wasn't letting him go on holiday by himself ever again.
Honestly, that's about all I want to write about for tonight. I'll try and add in pictures soon.
