Rainy and even a bit snowy in the mountains.
A pretty good day. I managed to drag myself out of bed sometime after 10, but in my defense it was Sunday, my sleeping in day.
I did a few things around the house this afternoon, chiefly cleaning the toilet. Bleck. Still, it looks all nice and shiny now.
Fumihiko was a little late tonight. When he came home he found me cooking something. I was making kabocha soup, from scratch. Good for me, eh! I've never done that before, but I've always wanted to. (Kabocha is Japanese Pumpkin. It's different than North American pumpkin) I found a recipe on the internet and since I had some leftover kabocha, I thought, what the hay?
It was quite difficult to make, the prep took a long time. The Kabocha is very hard, so I had to cook it a little first, then I sliced it thinly. I ended up running it through my blender too so that it would be smooth. Anyway, when we ate it, we were both very impressed. It was awesome! I thought we'd have leftovers, but we didn't! Anyone that wants the recipe, just leave me a comment and I'll send you the URL for it!
The rest of our dinner was good too. I cooked some miso pork chops and boiled some green beans. The beans we ate with mustard-mayonnaise, and they were surprisingly tasty.
After dinner, Fumihiko did the dishes (bless him!) and I hung up his wet laundry for him.
Around 9 pm we decided to go out, to karaoke. First though, we went to the grocery store to pick up some munchies for Fumihiko and a couple of kerosene tickets. Then, we hit a convenience store to send off some magazines to a friend, and then we went to the karaoke box. We got a room right away, but it wasn't the usual system. Still, they had some interesting songs. I found a couple from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I did them both, and it was fun.
We got home around midnight and for the last little while have been watching 24. I don't usually get to watch it so I'm not up on what's happening. I don't get a TV schedule so it's hard to find out when good stuff is on.
And that was my day. It was quite good. Dinner was great, I'm still stuffed. Karaoke was fun, and the toilet is clean. Life is good!!!
