December 18, 2006 - Monday

Snowy and cold. No snow on the ground though.

Of Early Morning Messages

I didn't hear my hubby get up for work this morning. I heard him leave, but he didn't know that I was awake so he didn't say goodbye. Around 8:30 I heard my phone beep, I'd just received a message from him. His bonnenkai which was supposed to be on Tuesday night, had been moved to Monday night...tonight. Boy was I happy. I didn't mind him being away, but I'd asked him especially last night to take me shopping so that I would have enough food in the house so I wouldn't have to go out. We had no food at all. I was so mad that I couldn't sleep in. I had planned to stay in bed until I woke up this morning...but as I woke up early, I decided to get up.

Breakfast and the News

As it was still early and I was hungry, I decided to go out to get breakfast. I rode my bike to McDonalds and got a bagel. I brought it home and ate while I watched the news. I'd missed the start, but I'd taped the news before I left. It was nice to watch and eat. I usually just watch and drink coffee.

For some reason, breakfast made me very sleepy, so I napped on the couch for what was supposed to be one hour, but actually was two.

Going out

After my nap I decided to go out. I wanted to mail a Christmas card, and I wanted to send Katie one last present. I'd forgotten to include one of her presents with the big boxes I sent to Canada. I quickly wrapped it and addressed the envelope.

It wasn't snowing at the time, so I hopped on my bike again, rode to the post office and then rode over to a mall. It's one that I don't go to very much as it's not too convenient, but it has some nice stores. I went there and had a snack. At a McDonalds. Sue me! I had a diet coke and a cheeseburger without ketchup.

I hacked around the store for a bit. I bought some new towels for the bathroom and a new hair cap for me. I've only got one at the moment so when it gets dirty I have to wash it. Then, I can't use it for a while. I also picked up some stuff for my dinner.

I biked home again. It was harder now as it was dark, windy, and rush hour. There was also a train crossing along my way. It was cold standing at the train crossing. It was snowing a bit too.

Down and Safe

I made it home fine and vegged for a while. I used my computer, then decided to watch some dvds. I watched a couple of Friends episodes, and then a couple of Brisco County Jr's. I cooked and ate my dinner at the same time. When it was a bit later, I decided to finish up my nengajo. I got out my stamping stuff and then I put on Serenity, the movie I bought in Canada. Fumihiko wanted to watch it a couple of nights ago, but he hasn't seen the series so I wouldn't let him. It was great! And sad in parts, but really great. The cool thing that I found out via my friend Susan is that Nathan Fillion (Captain Mal) is from Edmonton...or the vicinity.

I received a couple of messages after 1 am from my hubby. He was heading off to bed. He said he had a good time, but I'm not so sure.

It's now very late...about 4 am and I'm still up doing this. Oh well. I can sleep in tomorrow, but I do have to work in the evening so I really shouldn't stay up too much longer.

That's it for my day. It was overall, quite good, although I didn't expect Fumihiko to be away tonight. I thought it would be tomorrow night and had made plans for then. Sigh. Oh well. Still, I got my day to myself and I enjoyed it. Night!
