February 24, 2006 - Friday

Clear and quite warm.

I managed to get up at a decent time this morning, and I did pilates! I didn't do the whole tape, but I did do it for a few minutes. I tried a different tape this time and it was much better. I've gone back to my Pilates for Dummies. It has really clear instructions and modifications, so it's good for me. I can really feel a difference in my stomach today! It's a good feeling though.

I did some of my computer work, plus cooked breakfast again. I watched this morning's episode of The Lost World. It was pretty silly, but enjoyable in a "don't take this too seriously" sort of way. They met up with Jack the Ripper on the Plane.

In the afternoon I checked over my passport stuff, and then I took it to the post office. I had to send some money with it, so I tried to buy a money order for 10,000 yen. They didn't have any! I got 10 1000 yen money orders. That wasn't too too bad, but I had to fill out each one individually, then I had to pay to send them all. Anyway, my passport is in the mail. Yay. I hope I get it back soon. I remember last time I was really surprised at how fast it was. This time I won't be. They'll send it to Canada, so that it will be machine readable. I rather enjoyed bugging the US Immigration guys though. When we went to Guam the guy tried to give me a hard time about it not being machine readable, but I told him that it didn't have to be. It doesn't, for Canadians! Heck, I don't technically even need a passport to go the US. (Okay, I KNOW it's a good idea, but....!)

I came back home and waited for my hubby. I don't know why I didn't shower during the day, but I didn't. When he came home, I showered and then started dinner.

Tonight was Tacos without tacos. I make them low carb style, with lettuce instead of taco shells. We had chopped tomatoes, grated cheese, and taco meat. Tonight I used a mixture of pork, beef and chicken. It's really hard and expensive to get just beef, so mostly it's pork and beef. I got the idea to mix in some chicken to make it a bit lighter. It was nice. We both ate a lot, and really enjoyed ourselves too.

After I did the dishes, we watched another movie. Tonight's viewing was my request. I asked that we watch Stuck On You. It was a Farrelly Brothers comedy and it was funny. Yes it had it's dumb moments, but a lot of moments that were just plain funny. I was surprised that both Cher and Meryl Streep were in the film. I would never have expected Meryl Streep to be in this kind of movie.

And that was about it for my day. Last night in Turin, the Japanese skater Shizuka Arakawa won the gold medal for Ladies skating. I'm quite pleased as she did a lovely routine and she did it successfully too. The only bad thing is that we'll see her routine ad nauseum for the next year or so. The fact that it was the first Japanese medal of the Olympics might have something to do with that though.

Tomorrow night I have a party in the evening. I'm not sure if I'll be able to update or not. It depends how late we go. If I stay out all night I won't update.

Night.
