June 18, 2006 - Sunday

Cloudy, but not rainy.

Well, after last night, I'm sure you think that things were only going to get worse. They did at first, but then they got better. We're doing okay again.

We had an uneasy breakfast, then we went by the school to drop off my books and plates. The car was still parked in my stall, but the company had put some warning signs under the windshield wipers. I hope it works. They'd also circulated the car's license plate to every one in the building. We went home after that.

We were about to park at home when Fumihiko invited me to go and play coin games to get rid of the coins that he had banked in an amusement center. I didn't know where we were going to go, but we ended up in a very old place just outside Tsuruoka. It was okay. We were there for 40 minutes or so, and then went for coffee to S-Mall. In S-Mall we saw that there was an art show, so we went to see it. It was one of those ones where you are "talked" into buying a piece of art. Actually though, these guys weren't so bad as they were in other places. They pretty much left us alone. We had our coffee in Dotours and it was nice. While we were in the mall, I also picked up a few more fun things for Miss Katie-chan. Then we came home.

At home we watched the TV programs from earlier in the week that we had missed-ER and Monk. Not bad episodes either. I checked email and the internet too. I found out that Edmonton won their last game, so now the series stands 3 games each to Edmonton and Carolina. The last and final game will decide who gets the Stanley Cup. Japan is full of World Cup excitement, but my apartment is full of hockey spirit. (Okay, let's not remember that I absolutely detest watching hockey when I'm in Edmonton, except for live games of course...but when I can't watch any of the game at all, it's really sad.)

We went out for dinner around 7:30. The first place we were going to go to looked quite busy so we tried another place, an izakaya. Neither of us were extremely hungry, so we didn't have a huge meal. We did enjoy what we had though. We had yakitori, tofu salad, carpacchio, and an omelette with pork in it. Everything was good.

On the way home we picked up some groceries. After a while we watched Pulp Fiction, well, most of it. Fumihiko finally went to bed on it. I stopped it, we'll finish it tomorrow probably. It's quite refreshing to see it again. I noticed a lot more little things this time. And it's reminded me where some of the little phrases that were popular in Canada when I left came from.

That's it. So, a much, much happier day today than yesterday was. Hurray for that. Talk to you tomorrow, probably! Night.
