Torrential rain in the morning, clear and nice later on.
I had a strange morning today. I woke up because of some torrential rain outside. I didn't hear hubby leave at all. He must have been really quiet. I got up, checked email, and then went back to bed. When I next got up, it was quite late and I was surprised. It was still raining outside a bit. I made the bed and discovered that Fumihiko had left his cell phone at home again. Sigh. I noticed it was run down, so I put it in the charger for him.
I didn't do much today, I hacked around on my computer and then ate brunch. Of course, I watched two episodes of Friends today! One was pretty funny, it was about the Christmas Armadillo. Yeah, that's what I said too.
A bit before 5 I headed off to the school. When I got there I did a bit of a cleaning, vacuuming and dusting. It wasn't too bad, but I want to try to keep it that way. I checked over my lesson for today and then my student came. Today he was quite tired and even more badly behaved than usual. Towards the end of the lesson I just decided enough was enough, and we did something else. My next student was of course the total opposite. We had a lot of fun talking about her week and other things.
As I was getting ready to leave, I noticed that my first student had left his jacket behind. I know he lives around the school somewhere, but his family doesn't speak English so I couldn't call them. I thought I'd call my hubby and ask him to call them. Maybe they could either pick it up now, or we'd make arrangements for tomorrow. I called hubby, but he didn't answer. I tried again, and decided that he probably wasn't home yet. Poor thing.
I biked off home and sure enough, no hubby. In fact the poor guy didn't get home until almost 11 pm. Since he was supposed to make dinner tonight, we decided to go out instead.
We had a nice dinner at Gusto, I had the mixed grill with my favourite Popeye-egg, and we shared a grilled chicken salad. I liked that, the chicken was still warm. Yum. After dinner, we bought a few groceries and then came home.
I spent the last couple of hours surfing the net for information about textbooks for young children. There's one I'd like to use, but it may not be out yet. I'll have to check and see. Still, if the parents ask me about why I don't have a copy or even a sample of a text, I'll be able to give them a good answer. It's still being published!
Fumihiko is snoozing on the couch now, and I'm still stuck here at my computer, but now I'm sipping on some Vanilla Nut Creme tea. It's wonderful. We're still making our minds up about where to go this weekend. Hubby is off for 3 days. I do have a class and an interview tomorrow, but I'm off after that. We're discussing either Niigata or Sendai. I'd prefer Sendai as I have more shops I can go to, but I do like Niigata, so it doesn't really matter to me. If we go, we'll stay overnight so there won't be an update on Sunday night. Don't worry about me!
