January 14, 2007 - Sunday

Snowy.

I stayed up too late last night and so I didn't get up until the afternoon. I found the house empty. It was okay, I had an idea about where the old guy went. He went to wash his dog over at his Mum's house. I took the opportunity to sweep the worst parts of the floor while he was gone.

He came home while I was doing that, and we made plans to go out for lunch. I wanted to go to the Post Office first as I had a parcel waiting for me. We did, and I picked it up. It was from my sister, and was quite big. Yay! I love big presents!

We tried to go to one restaurant, but it was closed, then we ended up going to Moku-Moku. I didn't want to go as I can't always find something to eat, but it had been a while. We went and they've re-arranged the seating so the non-smokers get the larger part of the room. Good! I had Chicken with Cheese, and it was nice. There was a tad too much tomato sauce, but all in all I would order it again. Hubby had a steak...it looked good too.

After that we went shopping. We picked up a few things, nothing very exciting. I did find some make your own post-its that look interesting. I'll have to ask hubby to help me figure out how to use them.

We drove out to Mikawa and the Across Plaza. We went into the Mall and visited the drug store, then Hubby wanted to eat. We had a lot of time before the movie so we went. We had shabu-shabu tabehodai....as much thinly sliced beef to dip in boiling broth as we wanted. It came with free refills of meat, rice, vegetables and noodles. I passed on the rice and noodles. We ate way too much. At one point I just told Hubby to not give me any for a while.

When we finished our meal we went (waddled) up to the theater. I wanted to see Monster House, an animated movie. Surprisingly, the theater was running one show in English. Hurray. It wasn't well attended, but we both liked it very much. I think that it might join our dvd collection some day.

After the movie we had a cappucino or other fine coffee product and then came home. I finally got to open my Christmas present from Van and her family. It was a photo album full of photos from our childhood. It was so great. I had been thinking a few days ago that I didn't have any photographs of my childhood here. I never planned to stay in Japan this long so I didn't bring very many. Any that I had are stuck over at Hubby's house. It was a very much appreciated gift from my family.

We decided to watch a dvd and that's when things went downhill. Fumihiko choose the genre - Comedy, so I put on Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. I put on one of the special features first and he blabbed all through it. I wasn't pleased. Then, I thought I'd put the movie on. I did, and as it was starting he kept asking me stupid questions. "Which movie is this? The first one?" I snapped at him and he got all huffy, went to our bedroom and closed the door. I didn't want to watch the movie under these circumstances so I turned it off and put the dvd away.

He came out of the bedroom a couple of hours later, and we're a tad friendlier now.

Anyway, that was my day. We have very few things planned for the morrow, more's the pity. I hate not having any plans when Fumihiko's around. He spends the day asking me what I want to do. Argh.

Got to go! Night night.
