Snowy, with a few sunny moments.
I had an early morning today as I had to be at my school around 12. As it had snowed overnight I was worried about shovelling snow at my school, and my first class started at 1:00. I like to be at the school roughly an hour before my first class. If I don't quite make it, it's okay, but it gives me enough of a time cushion if something happens. Anyway, I left my apartment around 11:40, so I didn't do too badly.
My classes were fine and in between the two I watched some of The West Wing. Last night Fumihiko had told me that he thought he'd be finished work early. He told me to stay at the school and he would drive me home afterwards. He practically insisted. Well, after my second class, I got a text message saying thanks for an earlier one I'd sent him. I waited around the school. I watched a 2nd episode of The West Wing, then finally a 3rd. I didn't get any messages from him. Finally around 6:30 I sent him a message asking if he was still working. I got a "This message couldn't go through" kind of thing, which usually means he's still at work, somewhere on the mountain where the reception doesn't work. After 7 pm, I decided just to go home by myself. I was hungry and tired of being in my school.
It wasn't cold out, but it was dark, and of course there aren't sidewalks on most of the streets. It started to snow, big fluffy flakes that get in your eyes. I debated going to McDonalds on my way home, but didn't. I get to our apartment about 25 to 30 minutes later and what do I see? Fumihiko's car in the parking lot. Covered in snow, so it's been there a while. I go into the apartment and there's Fumihiko, TV blaring away with one of those inane Japanese shows on and he's very surprised to see me. Now, my Saturday schedule rarely changes and I think that after 6 months my husband should remember that I'm finished teaching at 4:30. He said that he got home around 6 pm. Now, question....What did he think I was doing in all that time? The only good thing is that I was watching my dvds. I was so not impressed. I didn't care about him picking me up, but I really didn't want to waste all that time in my school. I told him that I had sent him a message but he didn't get it. Except it was on his phone when he checked it. Nice one.
So, I begin to set up for cooking dinner. Here it is, almost 8 pm and I'm cooking dinner soon after walking home from work. The kitchen table is covered with his junk so I asked him to move it. It got pushed out of the way. Then someone sat down on the couch again and continued watching drivel on the TV. I therefore cooked the dinner, set the table and put out all of the fixings by myself. It wasn't a fancy dinner, but a little help would have been nice. We had pork chops (or the Japanese equivalent), broccoli and salad. It was all nice. I really was hungry and after eating a bit calmed down a bit. I hadn't eaten for 8 hours and for me that's just too long.
We split an avocado afterwards and had it on crispbreads. Yum. Then Fumihiko volunteered to do dishes. I figured it was the least he could do.
I spent time on my computer but took a break for a couple of hours to watch the CSI shows. Tonight it was Miami and New York. I think I liked the New York one best, although it was neat to see two of the Roswell actors on Miami! I enjoyed the shows, Fumihiko fell asleep. He's still out.
Anyway, it's late again and I'll probably go to bed sometime in the next couple of hours. Or not. It depends.
My day was mostly fine, but I woke up with a sore throat and I still have it. My Zinc Lozenges haven't helped as much as they usually do. Sigh.
Anyway, I'm off. Oh, one last note, I was tagged by KC with a meme. I'm working on it, but when I'm done I'll post it to my other blog. Got to go! Night.
