A bit cloudy, but not too bad.
Today was a pretty good day. I got up in the morning and watched the news and then started to watch The Sopranos. I taped it and then took my shower. I was humming and hawing about what to do. My student had told Fumihiko on the phone last week that she would call me to schedule more lessons, but she already had one for today scheduled. And, she hadn't called. I thought and thought about it. At first I decided not to go to my school, but then I rethought and decided that I'd go. If she didn't come, I could do some early prep and if she did come, I would look professional.
I cooked my usual omelette, but today I used a bit of the soup as my liquid in the mix. Boy, was that good. It added a nice little bit of oomph. After I did the dishes, I left for the school.
I was very surprised because my student came! Whew! I'm so glad that I went to the school. I haven't seen her for a few weeks, but our lesson went quite well. I planned to finish up my planning quickly and then go home for a bit, or go to a restaurant for a break, but I just wasn't able to. Planning stretched the way it does sometimes, and I found myself with too little time left. Sigh.
My first evening class went okay. Today the child decided to imitate me. Well, at least one of us enjoyed themself. No, really it went okay. After the student left, I set up for my next student and waited. And waited. And waited. She didn't come. I did call her, but didn't get an answer. Something must have come up as she's usually very good about calling me when she'll be absent or late.
I called Fumihiko and asked him to come and get me. He did, but he wasn't feeling too well. He feels like he's getting a cold. Poor thing.
Tonight I wrote a big long email with a guide on what to see in Tsuruoka, then I cooked dinner. I made chicken-tofu-kimchee stirfry. I added those ingredients plus some mushrooms and sauted it all. We started with some of my veggie soup, then the chicken kimchee and salad. Everything got rave reviews. It's amazing how easy the chicken and kimchee is, and how good it is. The tofu tames the kimchee so it isn't as hot as you might think.
After dinner, I gave hubby a pass on the dishes because he wasn't feeling well. I watched today's Medium. It was okay. Not great. I'm still undecided after 3 or 4 shows.
That's about it for me for today. The rest of the evening I spent at my computer. Hubby is now snoozing on the couch. I wish he'd just go to bed, but he's as stubborn as I am!
Tomorrow I have a busy day. I have two classes, a repairman coming to the school, and a meeting in the evening. Wish me luck!
Night night!
