Rainy and cloudy.
Today was a pretty good day, all told. I did wake up quite early. The reason, Fumihiko came home much earlier than I expected he would. He didn't take his mother to the doctor today. I got up and showered, then came back and watched The 4400. It was quite interesting today, as always.
We had an okay breakfast at Gusto, then Fumihiko dropped me off at my school. I was only there for a few minutes when I got a bit sick. I was nervous that I'd get sick in my class, but luckily I didn't. My first class, where I taught the same thing as I did last night, went so much better that it wasn't funny really. The student and I had a good time together. Between my classes I had about an hour to wait and I got a bit sick again. Sigh. However, my second class went really well. I had to introduce a new concept to the children, so I did a guided winging. I'm not sure if that makes sense, but I know the students and they are very intelligent and like English quite a lot. I knew what I wanted to do with them, but not exactly how I was going to do it. Anyway, it worked. They had to learn about what my niece calls "The Magic E", so I made it a lot of fun, abaracadabras and all. I even had them write on the board and called the marker their "magic wand". They seemed to enjoy it. It was the first one of these more "phonics-y" lessons that they really enjoyed. So, YAY.
Sadly, my third class of the day had to cancel. I was starting to feel better by this time as well, so I did up my paper stuff, and then called my husband. He came to get me around 5:30.
We went home and there I found it, the thing which I had been waiting for all day, my lovely new Harry Potter novel. Yay. It arrived today. I've read a little bit, but I haven't been able to get stuck in properly yet. I've been avoiding many sites on the web...anywhere that some ne'er-do-well might post a spoiler. I do NOT want to know what happens. Don't even think of telling me.
Fumihiko tried to walk his dog, but he didn't want to go out, so hubby came home and fell asleep on the couch. He was out for a couple of hours. I didn't mind really. He's been busy, and had a dental appointment again today.
Around 8:30 he woke up and I announced that we should go out for dinner. Fumihiko chose the restaurant, a typically Japanese one called Hana. It was quite nice. I surprised myself by having fish. We also had fried onions. I thought it would be onion rings, but it was half slices of onion, breaded and fried. They were really good. Surprisingly good actually.
We went to Mr. Donuts for cafe-au-lait afterwards. We ran into an ex-student of mine and said hello. We came home, and I watched Cold Case, then Project Runway. I enjoyed the show today, but thought that the judges made the wrong decision. Whatever!
Now I'm watching some Canadian family show. It's not bad...low budget of course, but okay. I'm going to look it up later.
Anyway, I should get off to bed. Tomorrow Fumihiko wants to go for a drive to the mountains. And hopefully I'll be able to dedicate a few hours to a certain Mr. Potter. Got to go! Night night.
