Warm and cloudy.
I had a good day today. I got up at a reasonable time, ate a yummy blueberry bagel with cream cheese, watched some old movie on WOWOW, vacuumed the floor, did a load of laundry and took a shower. So, all in all, not bad!
I spent a lot of the day on my computer, I even watched another episode of Heroes. This was a cute one. Hiro tried to steal a sword from a museum, but it was a fake. He's such a sweetie. I can't help wondering who wrote his character. He reminds me of my hubby sometimes. Maybe it's just the boyish exuberance or something.
After my lunch I headed over to the school. It was pretty hot there, but not as bad as usual. I cooled the place down, and re-checked my lesson. I had two lessons today and they went quite well. The child's lesson was fun for both of us, and the adult's one was difficult, but useful I think. It was all about changing nouns to adjectives and verbs to nouns.
When I finished work I called Fumihiko and asked him to pick me up. He wasn't doing well, but he came for me. He grabbed my bike, and then we headed off. I got him to go to the grocery store first, where I picked up the last bag of stir-fry veggies and a salad and some chicken for tomorrow night's dinner. I'd like to try eating more at home these days. I know I keep saying that, but I really do mean it. I do get tired of cooking and some nights I don't get home until after 9 so it isn't always practical. Still, I can try!
We came home and after I checked my email briefly, I made dinner. I washed and cut up the asparagus from last night, stir-fried them in a bit of olive oil and red wine vinegar, then added the pork and the bagged veggies. I added a few spices and a couple of dashes of fish sauce, put a lid on the pan and let it steam/fry. I served it and it was well received. I have a bit left that will make a nice omelette filling or lunch. We also had some store-prepared gyoza that were nice. I wasn't sure how they'd be, but a couple of minutes in the microwave made them nice. They weren't crispy though.
Fumihiko was in such bad shape tonight that I sent him off to the bath and I did the dishes. There weren't many anyway. One of the nice things about stir-fries is there isn't much clean-up.
After I was done, I went to my computer, and have been here ever since. Fumihiko is snoozing gently (sometimes NOT so gently!) on the couch. I should wake him up and get him off to bed soon. Me too.
And that was my day. it was quite nice. Tomorrow I have an afternoon class so I'll have to be out and about a bit earlier. Wish me luck! Night night.
