Sunny and warm.
It's been a fun couple of days really. Yesterday after work, Fumihiko and I drove to Niigata, stayed in a hotel overnight, went shopping and then drove back here tonight. That's the short story. Want the long one?
Yesterday I got to work at a goodly time, just a bit after 2 for my 3 pm class. It was a little hot in my school, so I decided to turn on the air conditioner. It didn't turn on. Ack. The batteries in the remote were toast. I hopped on my bike again, and rode to the nearest drugstore to buy more batteries. I got them, and then went back to the school. Of course, I had lost about 20 minutes doing all of that, but I got my school cooled down in time.
After my first class I had a lot of free time, so I did laundry at the school, I prepped a couple of lessons and I also watched an episode of The West Wing. Then, I watched an episode of Battlestar Galactica. Not the new cool one, the old one. Never realized how sexist is was before!
My last class went well, after which I cleaned up and called my husband. He picked me up. Hurray. We had a quick dinner at Gusto, hit a convenience store for some water for me, and hit the road.
It took us about 3 hours driving to get to Niigata. The roads were fairly quiet, but we did have to watch out for cats, frogs and a tanuki! The car's guidance system was really bossy, and kept telling us to turn, even though we wanted to go another way. Fumihiko at first nicknamed her Angelina, although today she became Nicole briefly. I think she's back to Angelina now.
When we arrived at the hotel we checked in, then went to get some food. I wasn't that hungry, but Fumihiko needed to take some medicine. We went to an izakaya, then came back to the hotel. I watched Quiz Show before going to bed.
This morning we had breakfast in the hotel, then checked out. We could leave our car in the parking lot for a while, so we walked over to LoveLa and Billboard Place and did some shopping. We got some dvds, books, coffee, and some things for my school. We headed downtown after a while in the car, and got a few more dvds.
Around 3 we decided to leave Niigata and drove out of the city. It was much easier with the GPS. We often get lost, but not today. We stopped in Shibata for a late lunch and then were back in Tsuruoka around 8.
We vegged and checked email for a while, then we went out for dinner to M's Dining. Following dinner, we stopped at the grocery store to buy a few things. I'll work late tomorrow, so if Fumihiko wants to cook, he'll shop tomorrow night. Yay.
We had a quiet evening at home. Fumihiko went to bed a while ago. He's not looking forward to going to work as he had too much fun today. Poor guy.
Anyway, I have to run. I'll talk to you tomorrow night. Night.
