Cloudy in the daytime, rainy in the evening.
A pretty good day really. I got up this morning and there wasn't any news on, just baseball, but, on one channel, The Usual Suspects had just started. I love that movie, so I watched it. I was still in my nightie until quite late, but I got to relax too, so that was nice!
I had a quiet day at home, reading email. One of the groups that I belong to, Married in Japan, is having a real set-to at the moment. One big topic is does Japan ever feel like home for you? That's an interesting question for me. When I'm here, Canada is home. My parents aren't living any longer, so there's no house, farm, exact place that I can put my finger on and say, "That's my home". The closest might be some of my old haunts when I was a lowly bank teller living in Edmonton. Whyte Avenue comes close, but it has moved on without me! However, every time I arrive back in Japan, I feel like I'm home. And, I suppose I am now really. My husband is here...and they do say that home is where the heart is!
I made my lunch in the afternoon, ate it, and then headed off for my school. I made a brief stop along the way, then got to the school. I had a lot of time today, so I did up my book-keeping, then I got ready for my classes. My first two students were a little over 5 minutes early. I'm not liking that quite honestly. In my little school there isn't anywhere for them to wait. Sigh.
Classes went fairly well, although one student got a little upset with her classmate at one point. Not exactly sure what happened. Sigh.
After work I prepped some things for tomorrow and Saturday, then Fumihiko called. He had finished work quite late tonight, so wasn't going to cook. Oh well. I said he could come and get me, and then I did dishes. After that, I folded the towels I'd washed on Tuesday and put them away. Fumihiko came just as I was putting the clean towels onto the shelf. Good timing!
We went to Moku-Moku and had a nice dinner. I had pasta, and Fumihiko had ginger pork, the Japanese style dish. His was big, and looked good.
After dinner we went to the nearby grocery store to pick up some food for tomorrow's dinner. I'm going to try a stir-fry again.
We came home and had a pretty quiet evening. Fumihiko made us some instant decaf coffee. With the rainy season almost here, I'd like to use up the jar before it clumps and gets all yucky!
And that was about it. Fumihiko went to bed a while ago, and I'm hoping to get to bed soonish. I'm not very good at going to bed these days.
Anyway, that's it from me. Night!
|My blog on Blogspot. NO annoying pop-ups, and with bonus pictures too! I'm running out of space on Angelfire and will probably move the daily blog portion to Blogspot completely.
