August 1, 2008 - Friday

Hot, cloudy, with sun in the late afternoon.

Today wasn't great. It wasn't bad either, but not the kind of day that I really enjoy. I got up to check for news but there wasn't any. So, I went back to bed and slept late. Sigh. It was that kind of morning.

When I did get up, I spent a quiet day at home. In the afternoon I watched Re:Genesis which is getting a bit weird, but it's still cool. Then I watched Grey's Anatomy for the 3rd time? I don't like it that much, but it's the only thing on in English.

I cooked myself an omelette for lunch and then headed out to the school. My student showed up on time, in fact a little early, and we had a pretty good class. His mother picked him up and then I waited for my second student. I have an hour in between classes. It gives me a chance to relax and check other classes, or more usually, read. I was just getting ready for my second student when she called. She wasn't able to come tonight. Oh dear. I put away her stuff and got the first of my classes tomorrow ready. Then, I worked on a small jigsaw that I have in the school. After a bit I called my husband and left a message on his cell phone. After 15 minutes I sent a text message. Finally, I decided to just leave. Around 8:00 pm I locked up and set off home on my bicycle. It was a nice ride home. Not hot, not cold, and the roads weren't too crowded.

At home, I spent some time on my computer and then just before 9, Fumihiko called me. He'd been at his house with his mother and hadn't heard the phone ring. It's two days in a row he didn't notice that I'd contacted him. Hmm. Not sure I like this new phone at all.

He came home and a little later I cooked dinner. It was nice. I did coro-coro steak, which isn't really steak at all, it's a bit like cubed hamburger, then invented a zucchini-onion dish that worked out rather nicely. We had those with a store-bought salad and shu-mei. Everything was quite good, and Fumihiko had made some great coffee, so we were both happy. Fumihiko did the dishes, which went a long way towards cheering me up.

We had a bit of a cuddle later on, but now Fumihiko seems to have fallen asleep on our bed. I got up to write email and blog. He's still dressed.

That was my day. It was pretty ordinary really. Night!

Oh PS, for anyone who still reads my old blog, it seems to have disappeared. I'm not sure why. I can still read it on Firefox, but not on Safari, my usual browser. Weird. Happily I have my blogspot blog too.

My blog on Blogspot. NO annoying pop-ups, and with bonus pictures too! I'm running out of space on Angelfire and will probably move the daily blog portion to Blogspot completely.
