Iglesias, Aretha Franklin, Al Green, a commemorative television special broadcast
September 11 by NBC. The two-hour program also included performances from PlacidoDomingo, Renee Fleming, Josh Groban, and the National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by music director Leonard Slatkin. The concert took place at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington DC, honoring the victims and heroes of September 11, 2001 on the one-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington D.C. The show was hosted by NBC newsman Tom Brokaw and attended by honorary chairman, First Lady Laura Bush. |
