Estefan will take center stage for the most spectacular and most anticipated event of the XIX Winter Olympic Games, the Closing Ceremony on Sunday, February 24th. For the second time in her illustrious career, Estefan has been tapped to perform at the Olympic Games, an unprecedented event garnering a worldwide television audience of over one billion people. Estefan will electrify the audience with an explosive performance featuring a medley of her greatest hits. Her rich and eclectic rhythms will captivate the dynamic energy linking the entire world during these extraordinary games. She will be joined on stage by singing sensations Bon Jovi, Christina Aguilera, Harry Connick, Jr., Moby and Earth,Wind and Fire. The Closing Ceremony of the XIX Winter Olympic Games will take place in Rice-Eccles Olympic Stadium in Salt Lake City on February 24, 2002 beginning at 6:00pm. It will air nationally on NBC. Note: Estefan previously performed “Reach”, the theme song of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta, GA.
