Gloria
released her "Alma Carabiena" album at a special event: "The
Atlantis Concert" at the Caribbeans.
The Atlantis Concert is also released on DVD/VHS.

The young Miami Sound Machine can be seen in the movie "Club Med" from 1986 as the entertainment at a bar in a resort setting.
Gloria was asked to have the staring role in the movie "Evita" but the part went to Madonna as everybody knows. Why Gloria refused? It would have been the first time she act in a movie and didn't want to have the staring role.
Emilio Estefan & colleagues produced some off the "Evita" songs.
Gloria's song with N'Sync "Music Of The Heart" was nominated for Best Song during the 1999 Academic Awards (Motion Picture "Music of the Heart". She performed it live.
Since she had the accident she needs to work out a lot. Just after the accident she trained 6 days a week and took the Sunday off. Emilio used to call her "Little Robocop".
