Purchasing Parts

Before you build your computer you will need to find a reliable place to purchase your parts. Read about each individual part under the Parts menu to find where components are available.

Preparing the case
Before installing the components to your to-be computer of the future the case must be prepared so nothing breaks during installation.

First, figure out how your case opens and detach all the case fans that might be connected when it comes out of the box. Removing the fans now allows room for fitting in other parts. You don't want to crack your $200 motherboard by bumping it into a $4 fan do you? I think not!

Open up the case.

Remove the case fans.

After your fans are out and your case is open it's time to install the motherboard. The motherboard attaches to the case by 5 or 6 case screws. These screws should come provided with the case. A spacer goes between the case and the motherboard so it doesn't sit in the side of the case. After the screws are tightened and your motherboard is secured it's time to connect the brain of the computer - The Processor!

But before you go... attach the PSU to your case by a few screws just look at the case page for the correct orientation. After it is in place, connect the PSU to the On/Off switch inside the case. (refer to the manual that came with your case)
