Attaching Memory
|
|
Once you're
drives are in place and all connected it's time to attach
the memory. All you have to
do is locate your memory slots,
find "SLOT 1". Open the slot by pushing the
white tabs to the outside, then insert your chip lining
the pins up. After you apply some force the white tabs
will close on the memory locking it in. It generally
helps to give those a little push inward while inserting
the chip. | |
Attaching Video Card
|
|
Before installing
the Video Card, remove ALL
the silver PCI bay covers from
the rear of the case. This will allow you to insert
all your cards without a hassle. Find the
AGP slot in your motherboard and line up the pins
with those on your Video Card. Insert the long silver
end into the computer first then push the rest of the
card in until it's snug. After the card is in, screw
down the silver mounting plate
to the case. |

Attaching Sound Card
|
|
When getting
down to the nitty gritty, if your motherboard
has Onboard Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, you honestly
don't need a sound card that
badly. But, for all you music fans, connect this sound
card in the PCI slot below the
video card. This will make things easier in the long
run. Attach this card the same exact way you installed
your AGP video card. |
|
Installing PCI Peripherals
|
|
Install all
other PCI cards the same way that you did the video
card. But one thing, see between two of the PCI slots
sound connectors? (refer to
the mobo page for visual aid). Make sure you've done
what you've wanted with everything between the PCI slots.
You don't want to have to take out a PCI card just because
you forgot to attach a sound cable or two. Plan ahead! |
