To foster a pet go to the neopets adoption center and adopt a pet. Help that pet get healthy and happy. You can paint it or use the lab ray on it, but it isn't required.

To get your pet up for adoption, you need to do a few things:

  • Check your pets lookup to make sure there isn't in inappropriate/unescessary descriptions
  • Make sure that your pet has full health
  • Make sure your pet is happy and not sick.

    • If your pet is painted or limited edition then it will be automatically be put up for adoption (as long as it meets the requirements above.

    If your pet is not painted or limited edition then it has to be a level 4 or above.
