Distance
I rather kiss each star a kiss goodnight,
Touch the sun that is so bright,
I rather paint across the open earth,
Or watch a sunbeam, dance and rebirth.
I rather watch a moonlit sky, sparkle and gleam,
Spreading happiness, joy, just being free.
I rather be at peace calm and easy,
And feeling the soft sweet breeze.
I rather have fun and laugh out loud,
Even try surfing on a distant cloud,
I rather soar high than fall below,
Why oh why is it so hard letting go?
I rather do all of these things,
Then sitting here being at unease.
I rather be there than here,
Instead of sitting all alone in my little chair.
I rather watch the sky as it sheds a tear
And try comforting my own fears.
I rather succeed
And just be me,
Finding peace and being serene.
