a county of Kentucky was given his name.

Dianah Hillsman Howard was her namesake. She changed the spelling to Diannah
later in life. She was referred to as "Grandma Whaley."

Thomas was the brother of George Farrar II. He married his brother's
mother-in-law.

! Her brothers were John Field amd Thomas Field, Jr., and her sister was Mary
Fields who married Edward Jones. In 1686, Henry Prewitt sold 220 acres to MAry
Fields Jones. In 1687, Henry Prewitt and John Field got a patent for 440 acres
known as Varina Parish on the north side of the James River beginning at Thomas
Field's corner.

According to records, Mary known as Polly was captured by Indians at the
McKnitt's Defeat in 1786 (age 8) and returned to her father Peter Ford in 1803.
She married first a Canadian Frenchman and second an Indian chief, Little
Turtle, and had a son named John. She married John Prewitt on 10 Sept 1805 and
her son took the name John F Prewitt. Her sister Ann and cousin Elizabeth
Maxey also were captured by Indians. Ann escaped. Polly was taken by
unfriendly Indians who sold her to friendly Indians who tool her to Vincennes,
Indiana, where she remained for 17 years. She returned to her people in 1803
in Madison COunty, Kentucky, with her Indian husband and child.
