Brian Beinke is a skilful, strong marking forward, who can be a matchwinner (as evidenced by his 1998 Best & Fairest Award) but can also be somewhat enigmatic.

Geelong scouts spotted Beinke playing for the Port Adelaide colts and recruited him in the 1991 rookie draft. Beinke was unable to break into the Geelong senior side and returned to Port Adelaide at the end of 1992 and made his senior debut the following year.

Beinke was snapped up by Adelaide in the 1998 draft and has shuttled between the Crows and the Magpies ever since.

Hailing from country Victoria, Brown spent 6 seasons as an integral part of the St Kilda side until he was mysteriously dumped at the end of 2000. Port jumped at the opportunity to recruit the best player outside the AFL and Brown replied with a Magarey Medal.

Brown was showing similar form in 2002 when he unfortunately broke his leg, ending his season.

After starting his career at leading Northern Territory club St Mary's, Peter Burgoyne starred as a junior for the Port Magpies before being one of the original Port Power players. Burgoyne has become a leading player with the Power and his uncanny goal sense and fleet footedness has led to him becoming one of the competition's most dangerous players.

Burgoyne, Shaun
17 games, 24 goals (2002)
25 games, 4 goals (2000-2002)

Shaun Burgoyne celebrates another goal

The younger brother of Peter, Shaun Burgoyne burst onto the AFL scene in 2002, gaining a Rising star nomination and playing a key role in Port's great form during the minor season. Burgoyne started the season as a forward but showed his versatility by playing a tagging role with aplomb.

Burns, Ronnie
2 games, 1 goal (2003)

Burton, Julian
46 games, 4 goals (1991-1994)

Following some impressive performances on a half back flank, Burton was chosen by Brisbane in the 1991 mid-year draft. His form unfortunately then tapered off and subsequently transferred to Sturt.

A crowd favourite at Alberton, Burton has slotted in nicely to the Sturt line up.
