Wes Fellowes was a towering ruckman from Collingwood who was recruited by Port to fill the enormous gap left by Russell Johnston.
Fellowes was a Best & Fairest winner with Collingwood so his stint with Port Adelaide must be considered less than successful by his standards and he returned to Victoria during the 1992 season.

Fabian "Flash" Francis has led a nomadic footballing career, playing for sides across Australia. Fortunately, his best form has been while playing for Port Adelaide, whether for the Magpies or the Power.

Francis began his career with NTFL side Southern Districts before making his way to Alberton and the famed Port Adelaide junior development program. As a 16 year old, Francis played the 1990 season in the Port Adelaide reserves, gaining favourable notices, but was unable to break into the senior side which went on to win their 3rd SANFL premiership in row.
Drafted by Melbourne, Francis played one game for the Demons in 1991 before quitting the club to return to Darwin, where he temporarily turned his hand to Rugby.

Lured back into Australian Rules by Brisbane, Francis showed flashes of brilliance for the Bears without setting the world on fire and returned to Alberton to make his long delayed Port Adelaide senior debut in 1995.
Francis had a standout year in 1996, finishing second in the Magarey Medal and playing a key role in helping the Magpies to another premiership.
Francis was one of the first chosen for the inaugural Power outfit and aside from an injury ruined 1997, was one of Port's most consistent performers. His long runs out of defence and booming kick led to Francis becoming a favourite amongst the Alberton crowd and saw him voted most popular player of the year by the Port members more than once. His departure to Fremantle at the end of 2001 therefore saddened many Port supporters and Flash's absence in 2002 due to salary cap issues at Fremantle and a serious knee injury has made football a lesser game.

| A champion schoolboy rower, French was a late football developer. French began his career with Sturt before Port selected him on their Rookie list. French came to prominence with the Power following injuries to Matthew Primus and Brendon Lade and by 2002 had cemented himself as Port's No. 2 ruckman. History will tell whether his trade to Carlton was a wise one.
