CORELLIA

Corellia is a planet that everyone in the galaxy has heard of and is famous for it's daredevil pilots and super-fast ships. Corellia is the center of the Corellia system and the Corellian sector. Many famous Rebel heroes have come from Corellia including Han Solo, Wedge Antilles, Garm Bel Iblis, Crix Madine, and Corran Horn.

Corellia is a hive of commercial trading and smuggling and is the site of a massive shipyards owned by the Corellian Engineering Corporation. The captial city of Coronet is the location of the Corona House and the famous Treasure Ship Row, a lively street full of casinos and restaurants. Famous Corellians are awarded the right to wear the coveted Corellian Bloodstripes on their pant legs as recognition for their heroism. Corellia was once a democracy in the days of Berethon e Solo but reverted temporarily to a monarchy when Korol Solo came into power. After he was hanged, Corellia returned to being a democracy.

After the Galactic Civil War began, the Corellian sector became increasingly isolated. The trades and corporations on Corellia went bankrupt and the ruling officer, the Diktat, began losing power to the Triad on Saccoria and eventually totally dissapeared. The Republic tried to replace the Diktat with a governor-general but it was too late to repair the damage to Corellia's economy. Fourteen years after the Battle of Endor, the Sacorrian Triad activated an interdiction field the encompassed the entire Corellian sector and began using Centerpoint Station's starbuster to destroy distant stars. Meanwhile on Corellia, Han's cousin, Thracken-Sal-Solo was leading an anti-alien faction called the Human League and was proclaiming himself the new ruler of Corellia. The Corellians threatened to destroy stars with inhabited planets unless the New Republic agreed to recognize them as an independent state.

It was soon discovered that all five planets in the Corellian system were equipped with planetary repulsors, which had been used to move the planets to their current position millions of years ago. Anakin Solo used the Drall repulsor to disable Centerpoint Station and a Bakuran war cruiser captured Thracken. The Corellian crisis was over. During the Yuuzhan Vong war, Anakin and Jacen Solo tried to figure out how to use Centerpoint's technology to defeat a Yuuzhan Vong fleet, but instead Thracken Sal-Solo used the weapon to fire towards the battle at Fondor, crippling the Yuuzhan Vong fleet but destroying dozens of Hapan warships as well. The Corellian system is still threatened by the Yuuzhan Vong forces.
