After travelling in Italy twice I decided that if something was to happen to Australia and I could no longer live there, Italy would be my 1st choice of countries to live. It's the best.

St Marks Square
Riding a gondalier!!
Venice!!! Here we visited St Marks
Square (above) and got to ride on a
gondalier which was pretty cool. We
had a bottle of champagne with us and
we all sang 'When the moon hits your
eye like a big pizza pie that's amore'...
Afterwards I strolled along the canals
then went to a pizza parlour and had the most delicious pizza - it was awesome.

After driving down
through Tuscany we

finally arrived in Rome. I was busting to be here so I did a walking tour of the city and ended up at the Trevi Fountain (where you cast two coins over your shoulder, see above) the first coin ensures your return to Rome and the second you make a wish on. After walking around for a bit I discovered it was decidedly hard to cross the street in Rome- they just do not stop for you, so beware. I also had my 19th birthday in Rome and everyone from my tour shouted me drinks all night, which was tops cos beers were like, 8 bucks.

The Forum where
Julius Caesar was
assasinated

The Collesseum

The Vatican

The Pantheon

I also went to see the Collesseum, The Pantheon, The Forum (where Julius Caesar used to be a senator) and the Vatican city. St Peters Bascilica in the Vatican city is something else! Far out I can't even explain it you'll have to go see for yourself. I also went to the Sistine Chapel as I had been dying to go there since doing an assignment on it at school, so I finally got to see Michelangelo's Creation of Adam on the roof (see below), and Judgement Day. Amazing.

Trevi Fountain
The Trevi Fountain

In Rome I also went to what was perhaps the most weirdest thing I have ever seen in my life, it was the 'Church of the Cappuchin Monks' and duuddde it was bizarre! The only way to explain it is a long corridor with 8 rooms off to the left with 5 centuries worth of human monk bones decorated in various different patterns throughout the archways and rooms.....weird but definately worth a look! Florence is my favourite city in Europe, there is a certain quality about Florence that I love, it's in the air and the atmosphere, it's such a beautiful city and the food is awesome, here are some photos of my first trip to Florence.

Statue of David

No matter how many pictures you see of the Statue of David, nothing can prepare you for the real thing, the detail is incredible.
