After driving through the night with many long stretches of pretty much nothing, we arrived in White's City. White's City is located near the entrance to Carlsbad Caverns and is a wonderful place to freshen up and change after a long night drive. After revitalization, we proceeded to the caverns.
At the caverns, we decided to take the Natural Entrance tour. This tour (which does not take you directly down to the caverns via an elevator) descends 75 stories down into the caverns with excellent views. We wandered around the caverns for a long time and took many pictures. After the caverns, we of course had to hit the gift shops in the National Park area and at White's City.
On the road we go again...to Alamogordo. We arrived there around 7 p.m. and decided that dinner was essential. If you are ever in the Alamogordo area, we would recommend Ramona's...it is good, well prices and hospitable. The decision was made to skip White Sands National Park today and to visit the park first thing the next day. Therefore, we found our KOA camp, went for a swim and went to sleep.
