John Cena, moments before he became PWF Champion for a second timeTHE DOCTOR OF THUGANOMICS JOHN CENA
PWF Champion
Jan. 18, 2006 - Feb. 15, 2006

With Mike Sanders, The Undefeatable Chris Jericho, John Cena, and Lance Storm all being very deserving of Federation title shots, Shawn Michaels' reign as PWF Champion was guaranteed to be action-packed. After some on-air sorting out by Mr. Bischoff, it was decided that Sanders would receive the first crack at the Heartbreak Kid on Dec. 22. In a fantastic bout, the Showstopper proved he was no fluke champion, defeating the Natural Born Thriller in the main event. Immediately after the contest, Cena appeared at the entranceway. Why? With HBK's win, he cemented the main event for King of the Ring: Shawn Michaels versus John Cena.

Leading into the showdown, there was a week filled with candid comments fired from both competitors. When the bell sounded at King of the Ring, though, it was time for all talking to come to an end. Despite X-Pac's repeated interference, there would be no denying Cena, who avoided the Sweet Chin Music and connected with an F-U to defeat D-Generation X's frontman, scoring revenge on the man who took the title from him in the first place and becoming the first two-time Professional Wrestling Federation Champion in history.
