It was only the second one-on-one encounter between James Ace and Taz, with the first taking place in the NOWF. Ace had won that bout, after interference from a number of wrestlers from both companies, seemingly all trying to destroy Taz. This time around, Taz had the Monopoly at his back, but it proved not to be enough, as Ace managed to hit his legendary Blackout and win an unprecedented ninth SCW World Championship.
