The SCW returned from hiatus in May of 2000, and its first show back was Aftershock, live on pay-per-view, headlined by the crowning of a new World Champion. The match was a Lethal Lottery Royal Rumble, and was originally scheduled to include Mr. Perfect, but he retired prior to the match and ceded control of the Perfect Team to Chris Benoit. With Johnny Asterix at his side, it looked like Taz had things well in hand ... until Magnificent Mike Flynn made a shocking appearance and decked Asterix, allowing Benoit to take the win and his first SCW World Championship.
