"You're thinking I'm just a pretty blonde. In my case, what you see is definitely not what you get! Sailor V is for victory! I'm Sailor Venus!"—Sailor Venus, "Mirror, Mirror on the Wall"
Sailor Venus was the first Sailor Scout to appear manga-wise but the fifth anime-wise.
Before she was discovered as the fifth Inner Scout, she was Sailor V, a famous superheroine,
and fought crime in London, with the help of a white cat named Artemis. (The manga about this
time of her life is called Codename Sailor V and is very hard to find in America. It came
out in Japan from Kondansha and Naoko Takeuchi in the summer of 1991.) She even had a video
game made about her. After many years of popularity, Sailor V vanished from sight.....
...And wound up in Crossroads, Japan. There, four other teenage girls—
Usagi Tsukino, Ami Mizuno, Rei Hino, and Makoto Kino—were already saving the world from
the Negaverse and fighting for love and justice. At first, because of the moon-shaped mark
on her head, the senshi thought she was Princess Serenity, but circumstances in
battle soon proved that Usagi was the Moon Princess, and that she was Sailor Venus,
the leader of the princess's four protectors and the princess of the planet Venus. She had just been
set up by Luna as a decoy Moon Princess while Serena was being trained to be a senshi.
Sailor Venus has three henshin, or transformation, sequences. They are:
Venus Power, Make Up!
Venus Star Power, Make Up!
Venus Crystal Power, Make Up!
Here is a picture of one of her henshin. I'm not sure which one it is:
She also has many attacks. Here are the ones I can remember:
Venus Crescent Beam Smash
Venus Love Chain Encircle
Venus Love and Beauty Shock
As a civilian, Sailor Venus is Minako (Mina in N.A.) Aino. She wants to be an idol
singer. In pursuit of this dream, she gets a job with the Starlights, a band which shows
up in Sailor Moon Sailor Stars who wind up being senshi also, and are known as the Sailor
Starlights.
